I like it close to sky city Casino and it’s real close to everything like the supermarkets and shopping centres plus it’s easy to get around the city
I thought there should be curtains on the bunk bed so you could have more of a private sleep. Other than that. The room wasn’t too bad. I did like the fan that they had in every room that was good because it does get hot in there with only one window.

It was central, 5 minute walk from SkyDrive drop off point. Close to restaurants and cheap stay for the night.
The room without a window was stuffy and smelled bad. The shares bathroom was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned.

First, it is a very cheap accomodation very well placed in the middle of the city, really close to the Sky Tower. As it is a back packer, you are staying in dortoir, wich is the concept. Reception is nice even if you have to wait a bit sometimes as there is noone for half an hour or so. You can buy a few things like shampoo, toothbrush, etc...In the room, some metal boxes can be used with a locker for you valuable stuff. Beds are good but rooms can be hot.
Regarding how cheap it is, you can't really discuss the level of comfort which is certainly average but great value compare to what you pay.

Super friendly staff and the beds were real comfy.
It was not very clean, but that mostly resulted from the behaviour of other travelers.
The carpets were quite old and for that reason unfortunately smelly.
The kitchen was a little unorganized and unclean, but again: that was mostly because of other travelers' actions.

A repeated customer who is not selective
The room was a bit hot and the misses was not happy

The location was great
The place smelt of urine and the bed only had a bottom sheet plus a duvet. I slept fully clothed as who knows how much bio hazards were on the duvet. The shower and toilets were poor, one not available and the shower was so hard to access as the outside door was only a couple of foot from the shower door so hopeless to get in and out !

Location and the cost
The pictures do not match the description of the actual room .. pretty dirty bedding walls had stains as did the beds the smell of the toilets lingered through the facility and the kitchen downstairs was a place not to cook in unless you wana wait in line best to get takeaways .

Staff is friendly and is nice and handy to everything in town
The room was too hot to even attempt to sleep in with no window and only a fan and the bathroom floor was covered in soap that someone had spilt and there was vomit on the floor of another bathroom.

The only thing I liked was the matress, and the location.
I have to say with a lot of respect that I didn’t like the hostel at all. I mean for the price is not too bad but there is a lot of things they could improve. I stayed in room 208 (6-beedroom and it wasn’t nice. First of all, people staying there, maybe long term (I dunno), had a mess inside the room so it’s not just hostel’s responsability. Besides that, I couldn’t be in the room during the day because is too hot, also It felt like heavy, dense air. There is a just a small window that doesn’t help with the ventilation of the room. Even at night was a little bit harder to fall sleep.
The other room I stayed in was ok, but I got biten by bed bugs or fleas. At the toilets, there was no towel nor paper towel, and the hand dryer doesn’t work. The kitchen is very small, and there is not enough space at the fridges (just 2). Also, It wasn’t any place to chill or seat apart from the reception area that has just some benches cushion in it. Reception closes at 11 PM so after that you can either seat on the only chair outside of the reception or in a bench cushion outside of the laundry at the basement.

Location and price
On the third floor, it would be an idea to get the squeaky door/s seen to so guests can sleep. I thought my staying in a single room would give me a good sleep but it’s louder than a dorm of 10 people. Lots of noise and talking could be heard till 2.30am.

The room was a good size for a single person, was able to lay out all my belongings everywhere without being cramped at all. There was a problem with the lighting which I experienced several times on the first night I was there) and it was fixed the next day (or at least the problem never recurred)
The bed was too short for me, and I'm only of average height (180cm). Was comfortable though and it was fine when curled up a bit. The street environment was quite noisy, but this is to be expected when you're in a busy part of the city. The walls must be quite thin, and the windows were a little drafty which was letting noise in as well. And windows probably aren't double-glazed either. No noise from within the backpackers though, which is appreciated.

Location is good, exactly next to Sky tower
Parking, it costed, $75 for few hours parking, from midnight to 8:30 AM.
The place is only good for a night stay other than it would be difficult, bare minimum, beddings, room, toilets were near dirty if not dirty.
I have stayed in other hostels they do provide basics but not this one.

no.
Very bad experience. The hostel seemed to have oversold beds — I was woken up in the middle of the night by another guest claiming my bed, and I had to give it up. I reported it to the front desk (an Asian male staff) who only said “ok.” Later, customer service refused my refund request, saying no other guest reported the issue. Very disappointing.

The location and access were the only redeeming feature.
The staff were VERY slow and unfriendly. There was no explanation of where the facilities were, (toilets, kitchen). The room was worse that a prison cell ( and I worked in a prison ) grotty, grimy, a thin pillow, a dull brown duvet that looked depressing, no light other than the fluorescent overhead, no furniture other than the two very squeaky tired bed. Noisy neighbours. The "TV room" depressing and dysfunctional. It felt like a trafficking venue.

Terrible smell of urine as soon as we walk in the building all the way to reception. Lift stopped walking a few times nd we got stuck. Room was dirty. Kitchen was smelly and dirty. Bathroom was ok but door broken. Room sheets and pillow case was not clean, bed mattress was not good, window wasn't able to be open or close so was super noisy and could not sleep.

Surf N Snow location is the best! Reception staff is super nice and helpful! I have been in this hostel almost 2 months now!
Not the cleanest hostel but it’s old building amd lot of backpackers coming through all the time. Def will recommend this hostel even for longer visit (I have been in 4-Bed room.

Great amenities, especially the ability to purchase a variety of basic goods from reception and towel hire, setup was basic but good for price, place was incredibly clean and the bathrooms were clearly well looked after. Kitchen had great amenities and was also frequently cleaned. A lot of the issues came from the behavior of other guests being inconsiderate and not cleaning up after themselves. FANTASTIC central location almost beneath the sky tower and minutes from stores.
Becuase we were placed directly beside the TV room and reception area it was very loud, at times quite late into the night.
A few more blankets or extra pillow would have been nice to have and made the beds much more comfortable. The room would benefit from a little more *something*, such as a second side table for the other bed or a floor lamp, and even a few travel posters or something would liven the room up a little as it has no window. A bin in the room would also be handy.
Also someone stole our milk from the fridge despite it being labeled and dated, so that wasn't cool.

nothing
The worst accommodation of my life. There's no cleaning at all, everything is dirty, the kitchen is terrible with thousands cockroaches and millions of insects while you eat, the common areas are covered in cobwebs and bugs, the staff is very unpleasant, the reception and the lounge with the computer supposedly close at 11 but it's a lie. They only close it so that whoever the "staff" doesn't want doesn't enter and whoever they want stays there drinking beer. The care responsibilities are carried out by people who are just passing through, that's how things are since they don't care and don't do anything and it's disgusting. The people are very unpleasant, you say hello and they don't even answer, they make noise at night watching movies with the sound as loud as possible at 4 in the morning, they have no respect for anything. Is it cheap? Is it worth it? If you have common sense, absolutely NO. The worst week of my life.

Basic for what is needed.
ROom was thin walled so you could hear alot around you, one of the toilet seats wouldn't stay up.

The location is great, right in the heart of CBD
The hostel itself is old and in pretty bad stage. Also quite dirty. I rented a private room for a night and the room smelled like dirty socks and the bed was really uncomfortable (you could feel the metal) I would have asked for a refund but I came back at around 10:30 pm and reception was closed so I dropped the key and left right after. DO NOT STAY HERE!

I had a great stay at this hostel. It's in an excellent location, close to everything I needed. I stayed in a private room, which was spacious and very clean—exactly what I was hoping for. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

The bed had bed bug, so any favour's they won are immediately taken away. Not worth it.

Top location, cheap, quite clean considering
Full of backpackers, expect some issues. Avoid to store too much food in the fridge, you might not see it again (it happened to me). They tend to steal food. Backpackers survival instinct. CCTV useless
