great price value (private room) compared to other hostels in auckland

we have been here when we arrived to NZ and also we came back just before we left the country as the price value is much better than in most other hostels in the city. we were staying in a private room (it was kind of the same price we had to pay for a dorm bed in other hostels, so this was such a better option). the staff has alsways been very friendly and helpful, you can see they want to accomodate you. The Building is old but the rooms and facilities are clean and the staff is doing their best.

it didn‘t very feel like a hostel from how I know it. you will not meet a lot of ppl or make huge friendships here, some of the guests are here longterm and you can feel the vibe is different (but also other hostels in the area are similar in auckland) it didn‘t very bother us but some ppl may like it more sociable :) the location is good as it‘s in central auckland from where you can reach pretty much everything by foot, but also there are quite a few weird ppl in the neighborhood..

No frills, clean and friendly hostel for the budget conscience.

This was a nice albeit basic hostel in a very central location. The staff were great, the bathrooms clean and well maintained and it was handy for the CBD and straight onto the bustling and Bohemian K Road.

This isn't the place to take your partner for a romantic weekend but it isn't pretending to be. It is cheap and cheerful accommodation for travellers on a budget. NB K Rd can be a bit wild over the weekend.

Bland but ok for the price

An okay hostel, nothing special as expected for this price. The double room we stayed in was clean, so were both bathrooms and the kitchen. There is warm water in the shower, you just have to wait a bit.

The kitchen lacks some more equipment - more pots, pans, etc. The doors and walls are quite paper thin so you can hear everyone around you. Apart from that there's nothing really wrong with it, reception could be open more but not really a problem that much.

One of the worst hostels I’ve stayed in while in New Zealand.

Location was fine.

It was a very basic property with no atmosphere for backpackers. Also the receptionist barely spoke English so was not particularly helpful.

Bed and bed sheets not properly cleaned

There are several restaurants and bars near the hostel. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped. Bathrooms were clean. The staff gives you a super quick tour around the hostel commodities.

The bed sheets have been used several times over without being replaced. The bed was not properly cleaned. The bed and sheets were full of hair and fur from previous tenants. It is definitely disgusting to sleep in such a bed! Clean beds and bed sheets is the minimum someone expects!

Nice city hostel with own room and shared bathroom

The staff was very nice and flexible. The facilities were ok, somewhat outdated but still relatively clean. The location was good, close to the city.

The queen bed was too hard to me taste. The view from my first room could have been better.

Great staff. Really friendly and helpful. Made my stay much more enjoyable to have nice people on reception

The rooms are clean but old and not a high standard. It could definitely do with renovation (the paint is fresh but I mean proper renovation and upgrading) My single bed was old and the bedding was clean but old. Carpet wasn't nice and in general the room was poor.
