I booked in December 2025. Filthy rooms and bathrooms, worst customer service and bad location - noisy and stinky. Not worth at all.

Comfortable,clean and kitchen well equipped
I have been told by the staff to clean my dishes just after cooking (before eating), I would have liked to eat hot first and clean my dishes after ? I felt pressured (as I was going to clean my dishes after I ate…).

Excellent place to stay if your intention is sightseeing most of the time. Very comfy and clean ;)
A bit far from downtown by foot but nothing too crazy.
8.0 / 10.0
The staff, how big the bathrooms are, the layout of the bedrooms.
How small the sitting area is next to the kitchen, the bathrooms should be cleaned once more per week.

It’s clean and tidy, kinda quiet, really convenient when your a traveler. I met wonderful people there and everyone was nice.

Everything was perfect, and the people I met here were absolutely wonderful.
What I especially liked was that the place wasn’t too crowded or chaotic. The manager was especially very kind, and I never had to worry about theft.
The most important part is that the place was very clean. The cleaning and laundry for the bedding were excellent, and there was absolutely no need to worry about bed bugs.
The accommodation was warm and cozy, and I learned from talking with other guests that the return rate is quite high.
It was truly a great experience, and I would love to come back again.
Little bit far from the middle of the city

A nice place to stay, bathrooms and kitchen were clean.
Location could have been better, a long walk down Queen St to the city centre.

Great spot to be down town
Workers were rude. The ladies at the front desk were terrible to all the girls I talked to in my dorm. Thought I was crazy thinking they were rude till I heard everyone else and they experienced the same thing

Property is fine, feels like part of a parking garage. Building is not especially warm, welcoming or aesthetically pleasing and private rooms are very basic, but you get what you pay for.

Very clean and well organised property with decent location
Way too many rules put up around the place, makes the common areas feel less welcoming and enjoyable. Owner is very organised but not the friendliest

Clean rooms and bathrooms, clean kitchen too. The kitchen was extremely well outfitted, and included a rice cooker, an air fryer, a microwave, a baking oven, four hot plates, two kettles, many fridges and pantries, and a lot of utensils.
There is also a disability friendly bathroom, however the hostel itself is only accessible via stairs, so if you use a wheel chair you can't realistically stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful.
There is a lounge with a large flat screen tv with netflix, and three comfy couches. Bath towels are available at reception for a $10 deposit which you'll receive back upon return of the towel. There is a coin laundry machine and a coin dryer which both take $3 to use.
The bedrooms are cleaned daily, and are kept at a comfortable temperature, never too cold or too hot.
There is a lim chour supermarket across the road, and a busy metropolitan street just past that with lots of restaurants and shops. Secure parking complexes are down the road.
They also added bedside containers that hang off the side of the beds for you to put things in, like phones etc.
I didn't like the beds themselves, too hard for me. Had a stiff body during my whole stay.
The stair access is a minus. The front door is heavy and tends to slam shut if you let go. Other than that I can't think of anything.

The location of the hostel he very near to to where I work. The hostel is very clean. Friendly hostel mates.
The kitchen space is abit small

It´s a cosy place, there are a lot of people living here so it´s like a big family. The kitchen is fully furnished, the toilet are separated from the bath, and it´s in the centre of the city. The beds are comfortable.
You can not drink alcohol. When it is full the kitchen is small or the spaces to leave the food are full as well. The reception close at 14, and I think that is a little bit early.

The say in booking that they have parking and that’s is not true. ☹️
The kitchen is too small

All bathroom got a sink so it is actually helpful for those who clean using water. The kitchen is small, but it have a complete facilities for cooking.
The double decker bed is not stable, so it will make a sound when you climb up or down from the top bed.

The mattress was quite comfy, with a good duvet. The 1100 checkout was also nice.
The parking, both on the street and the nearby parking garage, were a joke - especially since I picked this hostel purely for the location AND because the 24/7 garage next door (that was actually NOT a 24/7 entry...). The entire hostel is tiny, cramped, and utterly uninviting - even for a city hostel. It was certainly not the cheapest costing hostel in the Auckland CBD, but having stayed in others, this one FELT cheap and a rip off.

Loved the bathroom and individual showers and toilets. The kitchen was clean and had every item imaginable; also Awa? helped me with providing a letter for my bank no hassle. Communal area had Netflix and bedrooms had plugs near bed.
Bunk bed was a bit squeaky but other than that it was a good stay I slept directly under the skyline? so it was a bit bright in the morning but nothing too bad.

Came back after 1 year and still very good. Nice to see the old computer desk area repurposed and nicely maintained facilities.
2 out of 3 handwash bottles in shared bathroom was diluted with water while 1 bottle was ok in original gel form. Unsure if this was done by guests when they see the wash gel run out. The handwash gel was very harsh on skin and smelled artificial so I used my own.

- 20 min walk into centre city
- very friendly atmosphere. it’s quite a small hostel in comparison so it has a nice familiar vibe, i felt at home and comfortable within a few days.
- has netflix on the telly so people actually hang around the social area
- nice staff
- no windows in some bedrooms

Nothing is great.
Nothing I like, people are bad and the reception was the worst.
7.0 / 10.0
Bathrooms really good, many showers in separate cabins with their own sink and good water pressure.
Comfortable mattress
Location alright, close to bus stops and the city center, and with plenty of food options around (but supermarket not that close)
Small hostel that feels a bit like a "at home" atmosphere
Shaky bed
Kitchen way too small and not equipped enough for all the guests. No real cooking stoves, just 3 portable electric stoves, you gotta wait a while to be able to cook sometimes, the hostel was almost full so they need to get more stoves so people can cook
Not enough tables/chairs, you gotta wait to be able to sit and eat your dinner sometime, if the previous guests who ate don't leave their table just after finishing their dinner..
Sofa lounge in the same room than kitchen/dining room, but again too small, not enough couch space compared to the amount of guests.
Not enough room in the fridges either
Reception hours not super convenient, after 3pm there's no staff. They do have a self-check-in procedure though.
also the entrance/staircase of the hostel looks like an unfinished building in works, with concrete only
6.0 / 10.0
It was clean and tidy
Not very sociable
