Cheap, basic but good location and friendly staff

The walls were paper thin and I heard all conversations clearly from the neighbouring rooms. There was air con but you could not adjust the temperature so it was freezing all night. Everything was run down, it really needed some paint and decoration badly! Only one plug in the room (which actually didn’t work). Part of the blinds were missing so you could see out and I’m sure others could see in. It was very bright when you woke up.

Absolutely worst and unprofessional experience ever in my life.

Staff. Staff were absolutely irresponsible and unprofessional. They were partying all the time we reached out for help. They didn’t bother at all while we waited at the reception for a long time. They kept on partying with their friends. It was not even the break time said in the email. We came back after half an hour, they still was busy partying and never came to the reception or attended the guest. They didn’t even bother to turn the phone’s ringtone on, therefore never picked our calls. As we were getting late due to delayed flight, we tried to contact them. The call was going but no one picked up. No proper communication or help was provided from their end in regarding late check ins and they didn’t let us in the middle of the night we had to find another place. Despite we have paid in full amount ages ago. Very very bad experience. Never recommend this place.

The curtains in my room didn’t work which was extremely uncomfortable at night however the staff were accomodating and moved me the next day. Cleanliness of bathrooms were the worst I’d experienced. Part of the privacy window film was peeled off so not so private…

Pictures on booking.com and hostel’s website were extremely misleading

Location was convenient and option of a private room

Bathroom was dirty (hair left in the sink and on the floor from someone shaving, wet towel left on the floor for days at a time), stains on the walls and on the ceiling in the bedroom, the elevator had a new smell of either fish/food each day. The worst of it was the noise disruption and anti social behaviour we experienced. There was no information passed on about who to contact with any issues after reception was empty and so we emailed at the time to complain. Although an investigation was done and resulted that the noise levels were excessive and broke the hostel’s rules, we were offered no compensation for a night of no sleep only told that the hostel was not responsible for noise but apologised that we experienced it.

It was dirty, and even the hallway smelled unpleasant. The facilities are old, and the bed was not only uncomfortable but also creaked every time I moved even slightly. Even though the price is low, I think a minimum of care and cleanliness should not be overlooked.

Definitely don't bother if you plan doing anything functional, like sleeping...or laundry!

The check-in was smooth.

One of the main reasons I booked this accommodation was because it was SUPPOSED to have laundry facilities. There were NONE and I had to traipse to and fro a launderette with my washing.The blind was broken, letting light in. The windows aren't double glazed and there were roadworks going on ALL night outside. I barely slept. It was also really cold and had no heater.

Pretty good for a hostel in Auckland

Location is too good, staff is great and check in/out is easy and quick. Overall it's pretty clean and well maintained compared to other hostels. Private rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately the walls are like paper so it can feel like you're in the same room than your neighbor. Very little privacy. Only one shower for a whole floor was maybe not enough. It's freezing cold in the room and the whole floor. Temperature set at 20° I'm used to 30°+ so was very cold for me 😅 Overall I would rebook again, it was all good for a affordable hostels in Auckland 👍

The location is good and for Auckland it is cheap.

The whole place is just run down and feels very tired. The kitchen and dining room were filthy I would not want to cook there. Similarly the bathroom areas were not the best. You could not adjust the heat/air con in the room and it blasted on the top bunk all night I was freezing. Had a cough for a week following this.
