Good place for someone who is short on money or just someone who is looking for a place to stay for a night and doesn’t

convenient location and check in. comfortable bed and room with basic other facilities

great location. relatively easy contactless check in (though a little confusion around which door to use to access the keys). room was clean and bed comfortable. Fan was a great addition and certainly needed. Also great having a fridge in the room. while it was a bit of a maze to get to them, the common area and kitchen was clean and well maintained.

showers were a little tired looking and often unclean. while there were cups in the room it would have been great to have a kettle in the room and perhaps some basic cutlery/crockery.

Great hostel budget friendly stay

Great say here, one of the better options for a hostel. The room was a good size with huge windows, and the fan was very helpful as it was a hot day. Comfy bed. Easy to navigate with plenty of showers and toilets available. I didnt use the kitchen or common area so cant comment on those. Very reasonably priced for Auckland City, great location close to bus stops and Spark Arena. Good security with swipe pads and additional locks which made it feel very secure and safe. I would stay here again for a cheaper option and overnight stay.

The main foyer had a strange smell to it, I noticed others had commented the same. Not the best impression on arrival but the smell was gone once I got to the first floor. The only thing I would recommend is putting some communal bath mats in the shower blocks, some people are messy and there was water all over the floors at times.

A lovely little gem near CBD and the University

I am so incredibly impressed. The staff were quick and through with communication, the facilities were clean and well stocked, and my stay was pleasant. The rooms were comfortable and just right. I was pleasantly surprised at the fantastic showers, water pressure was great and the heating was strong. The location is great, an easy walk around the CBD and access to transport. Kitchen downstairs had anything you could need and was spacious. Check in and check out were easy. A great stay, would highly recommend!

OK and very good value for money.

Food at this hostel is self-catering with a kitchen in the basement. The hostel is clean, seems safe and is in an excellent location. Very good value for money for the budget traveler, but not at all luxurious. There is a common room on ground level with three computer/writing desks as well as sofas etc. I am not sure about TV -- I had no time for watching. Despite the minor problems described below, I would stay again.

The first time I stayed here, Room 101 had a small fridge and a good desk with chair. I posted a very positive review. The second time I stayed, Room 114 had no fridge. The chair and bedside table in Room 114 were not set up for use as a desk, so I had to crouch and kneel to write and use my computer. Unrelated to the hostel, the street signage in central Auckland is really bad, often non-existent. I got disoriented in the small streets near the hostel when going out for a meal. I had to walk back the long way after locating Queen Street and following Queen/Customs/Beach and Anzac Ave back to the hostel.

Great choice for budget travellers visiting Auckland

I really liked this "hostel" as there are no bunk beds but small single rooms for quite a good price given it's located in central Auckland. Rooms are pretty well equiped, even with a minifridge, wifi was pretty good and stable, self check-in instructions very clear. There are two very spacious communal areas which include a kitchen and even a laundry room.

Bathrooms are slightly vintage but kept clean, if those small single rooms had a small tv hanging on the wall it would be perfection!

Great Hostel

I'm not usually a hostel person, but I needed someplace cheaper than a hotel by Sparks Arena. Single room, no window has an armoire, tiny refrigerator, and a stand/desk with 1 chair. Bed fine. The walls were thick. I only heard things through my door (towels on the floor help). HUGE kitchen dining area with TV in the basement. Every time I was there, I saw housekeeping. Also, a quiet lounge on the ground floor. Great shower strength. No on-site manager, but quick to reply on this app. There's also phones to call them. Great 24/7 check-in system. It's not modern and shiny, but i think that makes it more comfortable. I don't expect oil, salt, or pepper, so I wasn't disappointed. It's close to the city center and not a party hub. I'd definitely stay here again!

I think an on-site person would be helpful. Housekeeping staff that I spoke to didn't speak English.

Super close to Spark and the strand (train station) straight forward system to getting keys and returning keys, didn’t see staff which is nice, but also a little daunting so will add why in what I didn’t like. It was simple, fridge, chair and hangers. Room gets hot but fan was good and drowns out the noise of bathrooms and people walking through hallway. It’s definitely a one night destination, perfect for concert and going home the next morning

Staff wasn’t really available inside building but assume only in office outside hostel, the showers felt a bit manky but otherwise clean for the use they get. It’s definitely a clean it after you use situation. No real bad review or a problem. However I’d hate for an altercation to happen and there are no staff on hand . You definitely have to fend for yourself. Recommend going with friends and sharing a room or purchasing two seperate rooms close together for safety. Over all it was a pretty safe experience, the building itself just seems to give a bit of anxiety

Good location, spacious common room and kitchen. A cleaner works every day so the accommodation is maintained nice and clean.

There was no window in my room and common area. The dish lack are full sometimes, but they should be put away by guest themselves.

Cheap and good

Incredibly good value, unbeatable location for the price. The rooms are clean and well-equipped. Towels, face cloths, tissues, little fridge, wardrobe and cups provided. There are old reviews mentioning past issues with bad people staying there, but this appears to be resolved. No safety issues. I didn't find the rooms too hot and the fan was fine, but it was only November. I think in summer the inside rooms would be stuffy. Convenience store next door and more close by, plus Saturday market, restaurants, stores, etc, just a short walk

The showers and toilets could do with a deep clean, as there's mould starting in showers. We were there on a concert weekend though and it was much busier than usual and maybe they didn't have as much time to clean. The whole place honestly smells pretty bad a lot of the time because the toilets open straight into the corridor and there's no ventilation. But its so cheap. Its worth it.

Convenient, secure, cosy, and clean ^_^

The manager was a LOT of help as I was clueless and couldn't figure out how to use the keypad (or I memorised the wrong PIN?), so he helped me check in. My room had a fan, which I really appreciated after trudging around in the hot sun for hours (there's also a heater for cold winters too). Each floor has a couple showers (the room had towels, but bring your own soap), and toilets too (maybe bring your own toilet paper as well).

Bring your own chilly-bin/ice-box as the room has no mini-fridge :p No hand-rails or seat in the showers on my floor (for people who may need that) :/

Staff were friendly and the room was what I needed. Fresh towels, extra blanket and heater just in case. Check out was at 11, so I didn't feel a need to rush in the morning

Looks aged and the door handle was upside down. Had to turn it upwards instead of down. Sounded like there was a fan or something going all the time which I couldn't pinpoint.

Mal isolé, on entend les allers-venues dans les couloirs qui étaient assez passagers. Pas de fenêtre dans notre chambre. Assez exigu et entassé.
