Cozy, comfortable, kind, and relaxing

What an absolute gem of a hotel. I went in the winter when the city was quiet, and it was the perfect home base. Comfortable, cozy, and with an amazing view. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Not to mention, the restaurant is an absolute 10/10

Beautiful and impressive

The room we stayed in had a balcony with a stunning city view. The room was fully equipped, spacious, and very clean. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, especially with arranging taxis. The breakfast was delicious.

Worth to comeback!

Very well located and with a beautiful view. We had parking place for 2 cars. The rooms were clean and fully equipped. The owner presented the property with a warm welcome. Breakfast is amazing and the food in the evening is excellent. You need reservation otherwise is full.

Very nice hotel in the centre of historic Veliko Tarnovo with great views.

On arrival we were met by someone from the hotel who confirmed parking and then swiftly straight to the room. Very efficient. The hotel looks great inside and out. Very well cared for. The room was very clean and bright. The facilities in the room were good. The breakfast was very good and all sorts of food arrived at our table. Certainly something there for anybody.

The WiFi was almost non existent in the room and not good in the restaurant. The bottom sheets on the bed were too small and came loose very soon during the night causing disruption in sleeping due to having to sort this out several times. Please fit bottom sheets either elasticated or larger ones.

Amazing Hotel, Look No Further, Book This One!

Amazing views, ambience, staff, food, location - amazing everything! This hotel is a true gem, one of the best we’ve stayed at. We really enjoyed everything about our stay here. The breakfasts were perfect and our room was spacious and clean. Will stay here again without a doubt!

A hotel with a great restaurant and view.

Second stay on our trip to Bulgaria and again a jackpot. Small hotel with a great view. Large rooms and comfortable beds. The hotel has a restaurant with delicious food. Very good and rich breakfast. Central location for sightseeing, a little away from the main street which is a plus. I highly recommend it.

Fine stay, even with challenges! Next time , definitely, maybe!

Everyone at the hotel and the restaurant are superb! Helpful and friendly. Food at the restaurant is exceptionally good! We always enjoy it. The location and the view are great. In room coffee and tea are fantastic addition to the well-appointed room. New bathroom is extraordinary.

Major issue - I, personally, was upset to see that the new management is very unkind to the local cats! This was a main draw for dome of us. The previous management was very welcoming to the cats and do were most customers. We enjoyed feeding them. I will have to think about booking next time, as an animal lover it is not a good start of my day when I see hungry animals and I can't share my plentyful plate. Minor issues- Wifi was horrible. Kept getting kicked off the internet or it was so weak couldn't connect yo anything. Hence, my review was late and only giving an 8. Even with AC, our room was quite humid and hot at night (didn't have a good sleep).

Hurko hotel guest house

Amazing 3 bedroom house next to the hotel, living-room and small kitchen/bar with tools at he ground floor, 3 bathrooms, amazing view; breakfast can be served in the house, the restaurant is also right next door. The location is also perfect, all interesting places nearby. Great personnel, helpful and kind. I definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely boutique hotel in prime location.

Lovely boutique hotel with a very nice restaurant. Restaurant has great outdoor seating with excellent views of monument. Property has an elevator and can arrange parking if needed. Superb breakfast included! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful - English no problem!

A charming little Mehana hotel by the Yantra, with a lovely staff!

Hotel Gurko is on a famous old city street that is named after a general in the Russian army that liberated Bulgaria from the Ottoman empire. The street is central to the riverside district and near restaurants, the art gallery, etc. The staff are super friendly and helpful and gave me advice on changing my bus ticket (and called the bus line to help me get information). The rooms are nice. The beds are a little old, and the style is definitely more traditional, but they have a very nice bathroom and are reasonably well appointed. I think there is parking but I did not use it. The hotel offers a free breakfast that is very elaborate and traditional - fruit, pastries, meat, cheese, yogurt, and more. I did not happen to try the dinner offerings, unfortunately. I only stayed one night but appreciated them very much. There are many really excellent restaurants nearby, as well as theirs, and if I had stayed longer I would have tried the mehana dinner. One additional traveler tip: Note the location. Avtogari Yug (South Bus Station) is very close by. My bus came to the western bus station, which was 45 minutes away on foot (from anything a tourist would be doing).

No major things. The mattresses could be replaced. While I was there, essentially the entire time, the wifi did not work, but I did not address this with them because it did not happen to be a huge nuisance.

Very nice family hotel

Stayed here before and really like the hotel, the rooms are spacious and the breakfast is very good, the staff were very helpful and nice, very nice views if you get a room at the front.

The only slight issue was the hotel bar and restaurant was closed for our stay, that said we were there in winter and only for one night.
