Decent value for money but there is always room for better

For the featured price: breakfast could be improved, towels, bathrobes and bed linens could be better quality (or at least washed at higher temperature for improved smell), the "banging" noise present in the room during the day (at least at the first floor) could be annoying and definitely should be solved.

When you have no options...

Staff was really helpful and attentive. Even that some of them weren't able to speak in English, they did all the efforts to communicate with you and to help you. Price per room was decent.

The rooms had some issues on the ceiling with spots from water ingression. The breakfast was the weak point with just few options and no coffee machine. If you want coffee you need to go to reception and ask the lady to prepare a coffee for you (in a paper cup) from a small device hidden in the reception furniture :(((.

There is no restaurant in the hotel nor lobby bar. The parking is crowded. Our car was blocked with another vehicle. The reception is woking sometimes. There were no masseur.

A bit worrying

Room was lovely but on ground floor so had to keep curtains closed for privacy Breakfast was good 😊👍🏼 Check in and out was easy Staff were polite and helpful as best they could be

Really disappointed with spa Sauna and steam room switched off, couldn't use them even though I asked to make use of spa Jacuzzi has just 3 bubble jets half working (not powerful at all) and was tepid in temperature Swimming pool, very small but nice Was not happy either that at 4.25am I was woken by the sound of male voices and beeping in the corridor... Then my room door was accessed and opened and there were men outside. Very worrying. They closed door within a few seconds... There were stamping feet on ceiling above me. I sent an email message to the property at 4.45am asking why my door has been accessed Got no reply, no apologies or reasoning Took me over an hour to return to sleep Spoilt my stay

It just so happened that we were forced to spend the night in Veliko Tarnovo due to an unexpected situation, and we chose Tsarevets Boutique Hotel & SPA based solely on the good reviews – and what a great decision it turned out to be! We arrived late, exhausted and visibly upset. At the front desk, we were greeted by Ana, who kindly asked what brought us to Veliko Tarnovo. After sharing the story of our day, she insisted on making things better for us. Even though we had booked a standard room, she offered us – on behalf of herself and the hotel – a beautiful, spacious room with a jacuzzi, completely free of charge. It was the one truly good thing that happened to us that day, and I’ll never forget Ana’s kindness. It meant more than she could possibly imagine. The next morning at breakfast, we met Eva, the other receptionist, who was also incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting us with every request we had. Aside from the outstanding hospitality, the hotel has a great location – just a few minutes’ walk from Tsarevets Fortress and within reasonable walking distance to the city center. Breakfast is included, and guests also have free access to the spa area, which makes this hotel a real best buy in Veliko Tarnovo. Highly recommend – not just for the amenities, but for the amazing people who make your stay memorable.

Even with the air conditioning on full, the room was still quite warm. This was the only 'negative' aspect I can point out.

Disappointing

The parking was easy

For a spa hotel, there isn't much of a spa. The jacuzzi doesn't work properly, and for the sauna you need to pay(!) So for us it didn't worth the money...

luxury hotel

We are very satisfied with the service, quality and price. Everything is very luxurious and stylish. The amenities of this place are at a very high level. The cleanliness is also impeccable, and the staff is kind and smiling. The spa center is incredible, well maintained and has everything you need. The pool is warm, and the jacuzzi was a real delight. A small hotel with a lot of history in a top location. The food is delicious and fresh. It is worth a visit!

Bad

The location.

Absolute parody of a four-star hotel. The room was dirty and the electricity wasn’t working properly. We complained to the receptionist about that, but they didn’t change our room or fixed the problem. The SPA was miserable. Small and cold swimming pool. The jacuzzi was full of group of people all the time, so we couldn’t use it at all. Not to mention the other SPA facilities were paid even though the reservation mentions free SPA access. The breakfast was limited to a few things, the coffee was terrible. Not recommending the place!

A very nice place with all facilities and very good position

The hotel is located very close to Tsarevets Fortress (2-3 minutes to walk to the entrance of this); The room it was very comfortable and spacious, with big bathroom, desk, refrigerator, Wi-Fi and TV; Even if I arrived at the hotel at around 21, I got all details over the phone to can obtain the access card;

There are no things here that I didn't like, maybe the number of the parking places (in present it is only 6-7), for me it wasn't a problem, I found a free one.
