Very outdated

It was clean

location is 20min walking distance from the centre. our room had front door with massive gap on top - you could stick your finger in it. No privacy as well as two twin rooms were divided on one are by a wardrobe so you can easy hear everything what it going on in your neighbours 😀 luckily they were quiet. bathroom was clean but very small and shower is literally by the toilet so no much space. also very outdated - still has it’s tiles from the socialism era. the breakfast was very basic but ok considering it was the cheapest available at the time of booking - fried eggs, boiled eggs, salami, sausage, cheddar, olives, fresh cucumbers, toast, tea, coffee, two types of juice. Oranges and apples. need to say coffee was nice.

Nice staff. Rooms were clean.

Some rooms have small bathrooms where the shower is directly on the floor. A bit noisy till midnight from the restaurant (depending on the room). One room was quiet and in the second one the noise was loud.

Good

Hotel is simple, but good price/value ratio. Surprisingly good breakfast. Big balcony on the room. Nice view from the room on the stadium.

Hotel doesn´t accept credit cards, that was surprising. The carpet in the room needs replacing. Hotel is realtively far from the centre of V. Tarnovo, but it is stil in walkable distance. TV could be bigger.

It was an excellent week at this accommodation

I didn’t have time during my stay to try the breakfast but it did smell very good from when I walked past the dining hall. The location was absolutely perfect for my needs as well. The aircon in my room was great as well.

I’m sad I didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast but other than that there is nothing negative to say about the hotel, staff or anything. I was even able to check in at gone 2 in the morning!

Passable

The main problem was that the staff within the restaurant (which was located right below the balcony of my room) used to play extremely loud music starting from 20:00 to 24:00 p.m. That left me with an extremely bad impression as it made my stay very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I will never again set foot in that hotel!

Value for money

Hotel Ivailo is located 15minutes walking distance from the bus station and 20minutes to the centre. I stayed in the single room, good sized, furnished with the simple furniture with a narrow bathroom. The bed was comfortable, breakfast is basic but sufficient. The staff on the reception was very nice. They accept cash only.

Even for the price, the quality was very bad. Credit card payment was not accepted - only cash The bathroom was in bad condition - rusty faucet, broken toilet lid, in the corners there were strains of hair from former tourists, very bad smell came from it. I was afraid to sleep on the pillow - it was stained, didn't looked clean - i had to cover it with a t-shirt The breakfast was not even decent...

Extremely basic hotel for your last-minute needs

The hotel is obviously renewed, and it looked better from the inside, compared with the brutalist architecture outside. In the end, it is a one-star hotel and it met my expectations.

The king-size bed was two poorly stitched single beds with an uncomfortable top mattress. The hot water takes some time to arrive to the tap. For some reason the key card gets disabled every 12 hours, which means it must get reactivated at reception.

Good

It was ok for the price we paid. We did not expect luxury given how cheap it was. The room and bathroom were very clean, no complaints there. We had a balcony so my husband didn't have to go out of the hotel to have a smoke. There is parking down the street.

Having the shower right on the wall without a shower cabin is weird, the water goes absolutely everywhere and we had to make sure to use the toilet before showering, because afterwards there was water for hours in the bathroom. It is quite far from the town centre. The area felt shady, abandoned, it felt creepy at night. The coffee at breakfast was water with a bit of coffee flavour.
