The location is perfect! There is a small parking in the front, Appenzell train station just round the corner. Mrs Monika welcomed me with a big smile, after the self check in which went quickly, very easy. My room was very clean and tidy, curated into details. There is a cozy common area on the ground floor, with all commodities. Breakfast was great, Mrs Monika is a great host who makes sure her guests feel comfortable and not lacking anything. It’s definitely one of the best places I’ve been to.

Great location, conveniently located close to train station. Breakfast was lovely and Monika was so friendly and welcoming. The homemade jams were delicious! We loved the lounge area too and appreciated being able to relax there before leaving for our next destination. The bathroom was lovely and shower was great.
Some ordinary old English breakfast teabags at the breakfast would have been great, along with the Earl Grey and other more scented teas available. It was the only thing missing. Everything else we loved 😍

This is such a pretty hotel. Everything is so well set up, the laundry is free and the self check-in is easy and brilliant. I came during an off season so eventhough I booked a single shared bathroom, I almost had the whole place to myself. The breakfast is SOOOOO delicious! Both the owner and mum is very friendly and nice!
