All in all, this clean, convenient hotel met my needs well.

My stay here was totally satisfying! The whole accommodation was super clean, which made me feel really comfortable throughout my trip. The kitchen had all the useful appliances I needed—dishwasher, fridge, microwave and stovetop—so it was super convenient to fix simple meals. Check-in was fully self-service, no need to wait around, which gave me a lot of freedom. One big plus: if you stay for 3 consecutive days, you can apply to the tourism bureau for reimbursement of your round-trip ticket costs. Highly recommend!

Every bit of Alte Metzg is beautiful (and so clean!). The bedroom was perfect with it's much appreciated fan, the living space was spacious with a great selection of books, the kitchen had everything you could imagine! The terrace was perfect for summer evening dinners with the mountains in the distance looking over you. The Appenzel tourist card was also a game changer, allowing us to get free transport from Zurich to the Appenzell, as well as the trains and cable cars all around the area. Switzerland may be expensive, but this place made it so affordable. I would 100% recommend staying here for at least 3 nights to get the free pass to stay and explore this glorious location. I wish we had stayed for longer!

Calm, uncomplicated, very tidy - can only recommend

Very calm and uncomplicated. There's no reception but communication with the staff is really easy, check-in and check-out could not be easier! It's very tidy and they even have a sauna at disposal. Nice lobby, nice kitchen and a very nice terrace. So if you're looking for a nice play to stay with a great value for money without futher admin papers, that's the place to book.

Die Unterkunft Alte Metzg ist wunderschön eingerichtet und bietet alles, was es für einen Aufenthalt braucht. Nicht ganz klar war für uns, welches Etagenbad wir benutzen dürften. Leider haben wir die Alte Metzg nur für eine Nacht gebucht. Wir hätten es uns sehr gut vorstellen können, ein paar Nächte mehr in dieser Unterkunft zu verbringen.

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt

Wir verbrachten wundervolle Tage in Appenzell und haben unseren Aufenthalt in der Alten Metzg genossen. Das geräumige und helle Zimmer mit dem schmucken Erker und das moderne Badezimmer waren sehr angenehm. Mit dem Self-Check-In und dem reservierten Parkplatz hatte es bestens geklappt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Die Nähe zum Zentrum ist toll! Die bequemen Betten haben uns sehr gedient zur Erholung.

In der Küche stand ein Strauss mit sehr intensiv riechenden Lilien. Das mochte ich ganz und gar nicht! Wäre sehr wünschenswert, wenn geruchlose Blumen stehen würden, da der Raum auch Ess-/ Frühstücksraum ist.
