Location is superb. It locates in the old town, with few mins walk from train station. Staffs there are very nice and friendly. Room is clean. Bed and pillow are comfy.

Room is small (but shower space is good). But this is what we expected from bunk bed room type. Would be nice if provide a kettle (and mini fridge :D)

Overall, it was a pleasant stay with a great location and friendly service

The location is very convenient, just a short walk from the train station. The hotel is located above a restaurant However, the room itself was clean and comfortable. I booked a bunk bed room, and it had everything we needed. The staff were very nice and helpful, and the breakfast was great — they served local cheese from Appenzell, and the coffee was excellent.

There’s no elevator, so carrying big luggage might be a bit difficult.

We reserved the small room with bunk beds and it met our needs perfectly. The beds were very comfortable and the room was adequate for what we needed. The breakfast the next morning was excellent!!!

Basic accommodations

Great location!

Check-in staff wasn’t very friendly. No ac and it was hot (80s) but fan provided. Very basic accommodations for the money. No elevator so could be an issue with luggage. A cold breakfast with a variety of options started at 8 am. The first day, staff was unyielding until 8 am. The second day, another staff member was very accommodating. We had 8:30 am trains to meet on both days. No safe, mini-refrig. Very clean. Wouldn’t choose to stay there again.

Good sized modern room and bathroom with comfortable beds. Very clean property throughout. The room had nice views of the town too. The restaurant was good and had a nice breakfast selection. Friendly staff.

The rooms were small and very well thought out, because they have everything that you need for two or three travelers. The beds were comfortable, rooms are very clean, and recently upgraded.

The bathrooms were nice, and everything was new and upgraded, but my wife wished there had been a small electrical hair dryer.

Location was great !! the view from the room was nice ..mountains in in back of the town square..They did bring us a hot water kettle on request. Beds were comfy.

Very loud...The chapel bells rang every night at least ten times, and would wake us up >>even with the windows closed ..very low ceilings..Very small room. Very basic breakfast.. no eggs ..traditional European.

Great staff !! delicious breakfast excellent food in the restaurant We have been to the restaurant many times, but never to the hotel. We will be back for sure.

On the weekend we stayed there, there was an open air at the Postplatz, which we didn't know about. The music was rather loud and due to the proximity it could be heard until late at night. Of course, this is not the hotel's fault. However, it would have been great if there had been a short information in the booking confirmation about the happening, so we would have been prepared for it. But even so, it was not really a problem.

Right in the centre of town and a reasonable short walk to the train station. Room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was good. Appenzeller cheese is great!
