Adler Hotel

The staff was warm and welcoming! They were full of information and suggestions for hikes with maps to takeaway to back up all suggestions. They even had hiking poles to use. The history of the building is interesting . The location was very convenient to the train station, the brewery, restuarants, museums and shopping. The breakfast was filling and plentiful. Consider staying 3 nights to receive the Appenzell Holiday card. The lifts and trains are then free in the surrounding areas. Also as always when traveling in Europe bring ear plugs as the church is near by and the bells ring early and late. Loved the sun garden area for an afternoon beer and card game with my husband, so private.

The only thing I missed was an in room fridge. Although they had one they would allow us to use.

Excellent breakfast with friendly staff. Location was great - just a 5 minute walk to the station and an easy stroll to various restaurants. Overall a lovely stay.

Hotel stuff were nice, you get like this appenzell pass that gives you some free stuff (cable cars to hike etc..) breakfast was minimal but sufficient, food was fresh and tasty. We hike schafler ridge and the hotel is very close, so if youre planning in hiking nearby its worth it.
