Fantastic Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Adler hotel. The best thing about it is that the care taken by the family running the hotel. Their recommendations were excellent. We enjoyed the Cheese fondue made especially for us on request in their fondue cellar and loved the experience. The facilities were very clean and nice. The icing on the cake the care and warmth offered by the family. Thank you very much.

A good choice for Appenzell

The Adler is easily walkable to the train station. We chose the Adler suite which provided 2 spacious rooms with a comfortable bed (2twins together) and living room sofa. A small refrigerator and coffee/tes facilities were also available. The room was quiet with excellent windows. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. It is an easy walk to the train station.I definitely recommend the Adler.

The breakfast only provided hardboiled eggs, we would have preferred scrambled eggs. But the fruit salad was very fresh and tasty. Also there is no public lounge area as much space is devoted to the restaurant.

The hotel made a fantastic fondue in the hotel for my wife, daughter-in-law, our son, and myself.

The male waiter was outstanding.

Breakfast was fine if you were attended within the first 1.5 hours. If later, bread was very minimal and almost gone. Items offered were also minimal if compared to many thought the country that we stayed last year and this year.

First class treatment!

The owner Matjaz was so nice and helpful. He even made us a special fondue dinner even though it was closed for the season. It was very hot in Appenzell and he set up a fan prior to our arrival. We stayed in one of the suites which was large and charmingly decorated. The restaurant downstairs was very good. I highly recommend staying in this hotel

Just perfect

Everything was perfect, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was good, the rooms were clean, we even had a separate door to the room to make it soundproof. Our room was next to the breakfast area, so it gets noisy in the mornings, but we couldn't hear a thing with the extra door closed. The whole experience was great!

A charming hotel in the heart of the town

Hotel Adler is a beautiful hotel, full of charm and an easy 5 minute walk from the station. My room was very clean and comfortable. The decor is in keeping with the rest of the town, very charming, I loved it. Whilst the hotel has a long history and has maintained its unique features, it has all the modern comforts that you might want. I've never stayed anywhere like it. It is right in the heart of town, surrounded by beautiful cafes, shops, and restaurants. The staff were delightful and very helpful. I travelled solo and felt safe and welcomed. Thank you to the team for a wonderful stay, I will definitely be back!

Excellent stay in Apenzelle

The receptionists were extremely helpful. They gave us so many tips on hikes we could do in the area and explained how the Apenzelle pass works. The hotel is very centrally located right off the main street. We ate in the hotel restaurant every day. It is the nicest Italian in the town. Our room was spotless and the staff were more than happy to provide us with extra towels for swimming. We really enjoyed the breakfast too, there were lots of options and everything was well stocked.
