Great view of the moubtain range

Beautiful scenery right out the window. One of the cleanest guesthouse we've been to.

This is a working farm area. The church is right next door and the bell chimes every 15 minutes. Bring ear plugs if you can't sleep with the sounds.

The Gasthaus is located on the hill. You have beautiful panoramic view of Appenzell. Breakfast is excellent. The staff is kind and helpful.

Magical place, with great hosts

This is truly a magical place. First off, consider staying at least a few days. You will be sorry if you spend only one night here. The hotel is in a very cute village overlooking the Saentis range with a breathtaking view. Even better than the view is the restaurant. Great breakfast will be prepared for you in the morning. The restaurant in the hotel is one of the best in the region. The room we stayed is perfect, recently renovated, modern bathroom and with a killer view. Also, the sensitivity of the hosts to allergies has been very welcome. My wife suffers from celiac disease, and we were able to get fresh glutenfree bread as well as recommendations for dishes suitable for her throughout our stay. Very pleasant surprise.

There is nothing really negative. I would have appreciated a few more electric plugs in the room (then again they even have a converter in the room). I am sure if I asked for it I would have gotten a multi-plug extension. Again not a negative comment, but a car would come in very handy when you travel to Schlatt.

A fantastic, family-run place

A lovely family run hotel in beautiful location. The view from the rooms is to die for! There's a lovely terrace under a huge tree that provides a nice shade. The family running it are super nice and very helpful. Breakfast is large and very good. There's also an on site restaurant with delicious food and good choice of wine.

There is only one downside here: on the other side of the road there is a church which rings their bells literally every 15 minutes, 24/7. You get used to it, but in the night it's good to have earplugs.

A comfortable stay in a beautiful area of Switzerland.

Staff were friendly and very pleasant. The food was tasty and there was a good selection. The view from the room was spectacular! I would stay there again and recommend it to friends.

the view from the hotel was exceptional, the owners were incredible, very friendly and always with a smile. they even drove us back to the city the next day. make sure to have dinner there, as it was amazing. the room was very clean and spacious

Lovely, welcoming, family run hotel

This is a lovely, welcoming, family run hotel. It's in a quiet location with views of Säntis and the ridge running to Hoher Kasten. The food is excellent, we were there in autumn so there was plenty of seasonal meats on the menu. Breakfast was excellent too. We couldn't fault anything.

My adult son and I stayed 2 wonderful nights in magical Appenzell. The lodging, the hosts, the view of the local church and pastures were magnificent. It was so hard to leave!

Our stay here was perfect in every way. The hosts were just wonderful- welcoming, helpful and friendly without being obtrusive. The room was comfortable and had a magnificent view. Our meals in the restaurant were excellent, as was the breakfast. WiFi also very good. We did some great walking from here.

Great stuff, awesome view and nice breakfast. Keep in mind there is also a restaurant here, even though this place is a little bit isolated. Definetelty would recommend. We were very happy that we decided to stay here instead of in the center of Appenzell.

Eine traumhafte Lage wenn man die Berge liebt und abseits des Trubels Ruhe sucht. eine wunderschöne Terrasse mit einem herrlichen Ausblick und ein Restaurant mit einer hervorragenden Speisekarte (Preisniveau hoch). Aber leider für die Schweiz normal. Sehr nette Gastgeber

kein Fliegengitter vor den Fenstern und die Fenster müsste man aber offen lassen weil es viel zu warm in den Zimmern ist
