Would stay again. Breakfast was tasty, well cooked with cereal options etc. Staff were very friendly, cheerful & professional. Small double room was perfectly comfy & had everything I needed for my 1 night stay. Good, spacious shower, hot water, toiletries, kettle & drink sachets etc, lovely clean, crisp bedding. Very good value for a very reasonable price paid. Parking was @ the hotel, too. A good walking beach nearby & pier, cafes & so on. Thank you for a safe, friendly stay for solo female traveller.

The bed was uncomfortable, the en-suite was a joke, so small. There were no facilities open, no where to sit, no bar, no food available in the evening or lunchtime. Staff were all male and only one was talkative. Breakfast was ok but not very exciting. Only sliced bread avaliable.

Comfortable Quiet Hotel Near Seafront in Paignton, Well Located

I've booked the Torbay Court Hotel numerous times for stays in Paignton recently. It's a reliable, clean, quiet, comfortable hotel a short walk back from the main sea front (the Esplanade). The location is towards the Preston end of the Esplanade. The overall decor of the hotel is very nice, having undergone a renovation around 2021. The foyer is quite impressive as you walk in and sets off the hotel as a welcoming area to guests. Parking is available in an on-site car park, so for driving guests it's a bonus. The hotel does breakfast and sometimes dinner/evening meals although I have not dined at the hotel. The hotel itself is in a quiet street set back from the main seafront, but close enough to walk into the centre of Paignton. Staff are extremely courteous, helpful and friendly and act quickly on any issues. Rooms are comfortable, well decorated and functional. Most rooms are en-suite I believe, although bathrooms and showers do vary in size depending on the room. Many have walk in showers rather than closed cubicles. There is a small lift if required for use. All in, a nice hotel.

Friendly, welcoming local run hotel who catered to our access needs

We needed an accessible room for my Mum. After asking what was best she was provided with a raised toilet seat, a bathroom that had a walk in shower and was accessible via a lift. We had asked for rooms to be close but on arrival were offered various options taking into consideration our needs and much appreciated. Rooms were clean and fresh smelling. Lots of tea and coffee, Hairdryer provided. There was a TV in the room but we did not use it. WiFi connection great - teenager was able to chat online with friends no issues. Had coffee one morning in the lounge which was really pleasant and beers one evening. Lovely area to be able to socialise instead of sitting on beds like some chain hotels and no pressure to purchase anything if not wanted. Staff really friendly and helpful. Short walk to the promenade and beach. My son loves Broadsands beach where he can safely swim whilst watching the steam train go past - only a five minute drive away. Ample parking. Perfect base for us whilst attending a family wedding.

Good for a short stay

The staff were great and hotel was good. We didn’t use the bar/restaurant so can’t comment on those. Very good location as only a couple of minutes walk from the seafront.

The walls are very thin and doors slamming loudly was a regular occurrence so didn’t have a very restful stay. Parking is very limited but there’s a pay and display car park 5 minutes walk away, which was £9.75 for 24 hours and you can top up via the parking app.

A reasonably priced well located hotel

Excellent location. Close to rail station. Welcoming friendly staff. Large airy lounge/bar & breakfast room. Good breakfast choice of cereals, toast, juice cooked items eg full english or eggs on toast. Smart reception area. Rooms clean & tidy with replenished tea/coffe/milk. Towels changed daily if preferred or as you wished. Quiet at night.

Our room was incredibly stuffy as there was an unexpected heatwave and no air con or fan provided The en suite was very compact and you had to be quite flexible and lithe to safely enter the shower whilst traversing the loo. The sliding door was a bit precarious pushing outwards as you opened/closed.

Lovely Stay – Great Location and Friendly Team

We had a really enjoyable stay at the Torbay Court Hotel. The location is spot on—just a short walk from the beach and all local amenities, which made it a great base for exploring Paignton and the surrounding area. From the moment we arrived, Steve and the team were welcoming, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Entertainment was provided on the evening of our arrival by a DJ, which added a great vibe to the evening and made for a fun start to the trip. Breakfast was tasty with a decent selection, and the staff were always friendly. A special shout-out to Steve, who was fantastic throughout—nothing was too much trouble. All in all, a warm and pleasant stay. Would happily return and definitely recommend to others!

The decor needs updating and the shower room wasn’t very clean. Paid extra for breakfast but didn’t think the options were worth the money and no pastries as they didn’t refill when they ran out. A staff member was wearing an outside jacket over his uniform and carried the coffee jar in his pocket? I didn’t think that was very hygienic?

The rooms need some tlc. Very old and worn out. The carpets old and filthy. The bathroom needs renovating. Toilet seat broke, toilet roll holder hanging off and the bathroom door just keeps opening if the window is open as not properly fitted.

The view was pleasant.

Location was both close to seafront and town centre.

I had booked the room based on the photo of the bathroom. I wanted a decent sized shower . The photo wasn’t of the correct bathroom. I asked for another room and was told it would be £20 to upgrade and when looking at the room it had the shower I thought I was getting but it was a wobbly glass surround so I declined. The toilet seat was unsafe and moved. It was a very small space so presumably that is why it had been twisted off of the hinges. The water in the basin was scalding hot with no warning signs. The shower in my room was extremely low pressure and because of that if you wanted to stand under it you risked being burned by the metal thermostatic control bar. The pump made an awful noise. My room was not shown on the fire evacuation plan on the back of the door so I didn’t know which way to go in an emergency.
