This hotel is spectacular -
The breakfast was delicious and the staff accommodating. The rooms are huge with a balcony and there is lots of extra space to use if needed. The pool and the planting are divine - really lovely watching hummingbirds dive into the pool and fly away. A very special place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Paranaguá, a beautiful boutique hotel full of charm and character. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and attentive — from reception to the bar and the breakfast team.
Everything was perfect and it’s truly an ideal place to relax after a long day of sightseeing in Rio. The atmosphere is calm, elegant, and welcoming.
The hotel is not located in the main tourist area, but that actually adds to its appeal. Ubers are plentiful, inexpensive, and make getting around very easy.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for a peaceful, stylish place to stay — a real gem hidden in Rio.

This is a spectacular boutique hotel in Rio. The staff are outstanding. The “bar food” (no big restaurant) is excellent: French, delicious, interesting, well presented. The ambiance is architectural interesting, attention to small detail, artistic, lovely, welcoming. An outstanding decor. The outside is beautifully designed with gardens, seating area, pool area, outdoor dining: all with a flair for landscaping and decor. The views of Rio from this hilltop location are spectacular. This is a hidden gem. Do not miss it!
Nothing. If you are in a wheelchair or frail, you cannot stay here. There is no elevator and the gorgeous, spiral staircase with marble steps winds up to the floors. There is a beautiful railing, but if you are frail, this is not for you.

The whole stay was just absolutely fabulous. The lovely people working there make you feel right at home and everything is done with so much eye for detail. Can't wait to stay here again.
Nothing at all!

An absolutely stunning place to stay. Immaculately designed with huge attention to detail. The food is amazing and the staff could not be more friendly or helpful.

This beautiful boutique hotel exceeds all expectations! It is more of an exceptionally stylish home than a hotel. The rooms (suites) are spacious, tastefully decorated with ultra-modern bathrooms that some big name hotels could take as an example. The large, palm-fringed pool is not just an alibi pool, but can actually be used for sporty swimming.
The staff are not only extremely friendly, but also cordial and fulfil every wish of their guests.
This idyllic hideaway in the beautiful Santa Teresa neighbourhood is a thousand times better than the "big" hotels on Copacabana! We would always stay here again when we are in Rio. The only sad experience was leaving the hotel!
Absolutely nothing!

All meals, incl.breakfast, were very good, compliments to the chef!
The staff were welcoming, friendly, and efficient, especially Oriana and Pablo. The best of them all was Gabriel : when my husband left his phone on the back seat of the cab, Gabriel offered to help, taking the trouble to contact both the taxi company and the restaurant we were driven from, found the cab driver, and we got the phone delivered back to the hotel!! One thousand THANKS to Gabriel from Elizabeth and Eugene! This is what I would call hospitality.
Only small things:
We did not expect that there will be no slippers, no shower cap and other small toiletries in the bathroom. Would be good to have them, it would be customary for a hotel of this caliber.

This is an amazing tiny hotel to relax in Rio. The building, garden and pool are absolutely stunning and the team is so professional and helpful.

Everything. The rooms, the food, the location and the staff. Absolutely the best hotel during our 17 day in Brazil. Highly recommended!

Beautifully renovated, design-led villa with wonderful, super efficient - nothing was too much trouble. Elegant communal spaces to enjoy the view with an expertly made caipirinha after a swim in the beautiful pool

We enjoyed our stay at Paranagua. The breakfast was just right for us and the meals were delicious. All staff were excellent and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
The location wasn't the best. Not far from the skeleton steps though. needed Uber to get around. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill.

Lovely hotel, nice decor, staff were very friendly. Rooms were gorgeous and very comfortable.
The only thing that could be improved was the food. We felt portion sizes were too small for what we paid for at dinner, breakfast was also quite small.

The hotel was fabulous and exquisitely refurbished (like, straight out of a design magazine) , with a beautiful garden full of exotic birds and a beautiful swimming pool. If that wasn’t enough what makes it even more special is the staff; everyone is so very kind and polite and genuinely friendly. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home and accommodate your every request. They make you feel very well looked after and as if you were visiting friends (rather than staying at an hotel). They anticipate your very need before you even tell them! I felt very comfortable and at ease and loved staying there!
There is not one single thing that comes to my find!

Very nice location, within walking distance of bars and restaurants. Breakfast was really good, and your choice from the menu is delivered to your table. For someone who hates breakfast buffets with lukewarm food, this was great!

The location is a bit difficult to get to. Neighborhood is ok but not ideal.

A beautiful property in the Santa Teresa area. The staff were great, special mention to Pablo. We ate breakfast and dinner there. The menu was small but delicious.

Loved loved the service, food, and the grounds. The rooms were very spacious and beautifully appointed. It was a private get-away that allowed us to escape the hustle bustle of the city of Rio.
The only thing was it was a little challenging to get there. But that had its positive side in that it made for a quiet and private stay.

Taxi transfer quotes were too high

Bartender - we loved her a lot
Everyday messages from booking time is too much.
Deposit and payment policy for staying is above my understanding. Too much activity for nothing.
Fotos does not match with reality. We expected more.

incredibly beautiful and stylish place- like staying in the home of a wealthy and stylish friend. The staff were all lovely and very helpful.
it would have been nice to have a small gym, or at least a couple of yoga mats and weights.

Oasis design boutique hotel in the middle of Santa Teresa. Amazing experience. Everything was perfect. A special word for the staff: Leo, Pablo and Brunelle and the project from the owners that is behind this special art deco dream athmosphere.

The deco - living room/dining room is very tasteful and gives you a feel of homely vibe. Food menu is limited but sufficient. Swimming pool is good size. You also have a game room to play a round of pool, or can retreat to sauna room to steam off all those caipirinhas. Staff (Pablo, Leo to name a few) are so hospital and professional. I was sick during my stay and their tentativeness (and the comfort of the hotel) certainly made the experience much more endurable. Hotel is also pretty close to main area of Santa Teresa by foot.
The location is a bit tricky - up a steep winding road. I was a bit worried as our car was driving up. It was however easy enough to uber/taxi for going out and coming back.

An oasis of calm with a lush garden and beautiful views. Feels more like a friend’s home than a hotel. Friendly and attentive service. Rooms are beautifully appointed and super comfortable. Staff go above and beyond to deliver the best experience, kudos especially to Pablo and Dominique at the bar. If you’re looking for calm and tranquility, this is the place for you.
The property is beautiful, but once you step outside the surroundings are a bit sketchy, derelict buildings and not the safest place, but if you’re coming and going in a taxi you will be fine. This is a place to relax in the hotel and enjoy their beautiful pool and garden, as they are further away from the beaches.

it was beautiful with tropical grounds. unfortunately for us it rained. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a very large bathroom.
We had a comfortable place to sit in the library where we read ,played cards and talked with the super friendly staff. There were only twelve rooms and we talked with a couple other travelers. The menu for meals was simple, but delicious.

Incredible hotel designed to highest European standard. Beautiful common parts, nice spacious rooms.
Outside the hotel is a bit grim, but I guess it's part of the charm of being in Santa Teresa
