The house is fantastic! The interior is probably the best I have seen and it does feel like the owner is simply inviting strangers to enjoy his home. The staff gave us great tips and were super friendly, especially Daniel, we had great and deep conversations. The location is great for exploring Santa Teresa and the areas around. A bit far if you want to visit Ipanema, etc. The view is amazing of course and we wished we had more time to enjoy the serenity and tranquility of this space. One day hopefully we can come back :)
It would have been great if there were some snack options, or some food options for a middle-of-the-day meal.

An immediately relaxing atmosphere, with a warm welcome. Stunning views, beautiful pool, delicious breakfast and beautiful design throughout.

The service was exceptional and they even helped us with local recommendations on where to go! Anderson and Daniel were very helpful. The hotel is very private, has a very good overlooking view plus a rooftop for the sunrise. It's also walking distance to a good shops and restos in Santa Teresa.
It may be a bit far if you want to keep going back and forth to the beach, so plan ahead. But other than that, we were really impressed and cannot wait to come back!

Our stay at Chez Georges began with a warm welcome from Daniel, who quickly felt more like a friend than a host. He was incredibly helpful, offering great recommendations and always going out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. Alongside the lovely Sara and Frida, he made us feel completely at home. The atmosphere was so special and inviting that we ended up extending our stay from 2 nights to 5. I warmly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable experience!

I went into Chez Georges expecting the best, the price of the room was about 3x the price of other comparable properties in the same area and I wanted to really enjoy my stay. Sadly what wasn’t disclosed was the fact that there would be 14 hour construction literally NEXT DOOR to my room, and so disruptive that I couldn’t even enjoy the pool which was the main feature of the hotel. The fact that they not only didn’t give warning or give discounted rate for that was astounding to me, and no there were no other rooms available as I had to wait an extra hour to check into my room because it was that busy.

superb villa overlooking the city, amazing architecture of the place
location- loud noise during the night (favela rap music all night, wedding location next door/ also quite loud but nothing compared to the rap:)

The aesthetic of this building is one of a kind. The interior design is very very cool. The views of the entire city of Rio de Janeiro are spectacular and never get old. Every time we looked out the view took our breath. They have access to the roof top and oh my God it was one of the best moments anyone can have. And of course, the staff were all absolutely wonderful. The breakfasts made by the chefs every morning were some of the best we had in Brazil. The service from each member of the staff was the best we had. They have a Moroccan brother as part of their staff and he left a note in Arabic to welcome us seeing my name is Mohammed. It was a very sweet touch. This will forever be one of the coolest places I've stayed in. Highly recommended.
I wouldn't say "didn't like" because considering where this property is located, it was fully expected. So this is for those not prepared but hot showers likely will not happen and mosquitoes are plentiful. Just a heads up.

Wow, what an incredible find! Staying at Chez Georges was a dream and we found definitely stay again. Loved the views and facilities, the breakfast, the staff, the atmosphere!
Really not much! We read the reviews in advance and were prepared for loud music on the wknds - and it was quite intense, but because we were prepared (knew what to expect and brought high quality ear plugs), the noise was really manageable.

Views, staff, location, the vibe! Breakfast, room and off course the whole interior :)
Prices in meniu (bar) did not match the bill - also, one day guy from the service proposed welcome drinks but we found them in a check. In final, the sum of a bill was double as we expected and it is not because of additional taxes.

Absolutely everything.
It's not only an extraordinary house with exquisite architectural features and a view to make a lot of people jealous, the people working there were simply the nicest. Always ready to give us their personal advice on the city/places nearby, and to share little anecdotes about the house.
nothing!
too bad then jacuzzi was not working at the time, but I mean, still an amazing experience!

The house itself is very cool.
This isn’t really a hotel. It’s more like an Airbnb. There is one ‘host’ who stays in during the day, but they leave at night, meaning that the house is not staffed overnight. There are also no services in the evening - no drinks, no food. You can helpful yourself to a beer from the the fridge, but that’s it. We also didn’t like the location: it’s far from the centre and the beaches and taxis generally don’t like going here, especially at night, meaning that you’re stuck going to only a few restaurants nearby.

I loved so much about this place and our stay. The house, views, staff and area are incredible! We wanted to get immersed in the culture and felt like we got an authentic taste of Santa Theresa. The staff assisted and arranged anything we requested.
Every Saturday is a huge all night city party that resinates through the canyon. Chez Goerge’s does an excellent job of supplying ear plugs and this is a part of the Brazilian culture so we definitely feel like we experienced authentic Brazil

If you are looking for a stylish boutique hotel in the heart of Santa Teresa, look no further. You definitely feel you're in a special place as soon as you get through the front door... This gorgeous brutalist home with contemporary interiors, and breathtaking views, has only 6 rooms. They are spacious and quiet; I recommend booking one with the large stone walk-in shower with a view (see photos). The pool can be bit cold but is totally big enough for laps. The hosts are lovely and knowledgeable. As if you were at home, you can grab what you want from the kitchen, cook for yourself or ask one of the chef to prepare you a dish. No TV or phone in the rooms but Internet connection is very reliable. There is a musical studio available for the guests. This is a home for art and relaxation.
Some of the vintage pillows can have a smell that not everyone will appreciate.

We really loved the Villa. It’s beautifully decorated and we admired every single part of the property. The view is absolutely stunning and the property is so serene and peaceful, which is exactly what we wanted. The staff were absolutely amazing, kind and very knowledgeable. They were happy to help us with everything. Also there are CCTV cameras all over the property, so we felt very safe. Lots of great food places nearby to eat, and not to far from Lapa If you want to be social. I would stay here again If I came back to Rio
A few improvements- would be good to have more than 1 pillow per person on a king size bed. Also more choice at breakfast would be nice, and maybe include bacon, sausages etc and more continental options. I also believe the Villa should be better signposted by the road, as you can’t see it and we had difficultly finding it as the entry is actually the Garage. A sign saying ‘Chez George’s’ would be very helpful to people who have not been here before

Fantastic place with fantastic views. The hotel is a real work of art. The staff was great and very responsive! We were very lucky to be the only guests. Breakfast outside by the pool with great views was something unique. This view will remain in my memory for a long time. And yes - breakfast was very delicious. Thanks! Also, the room had its own string. The whole hotel has been thought of in detail. The view was great from the pool, from the room and even from the shower! I really liked the bathroom. In two words - EXCELLENT and THANK YOU.
Be careful in this area and it is better not to move here during the dark hours of the day (also by transport). Not far from the hotel (on the way to the hotel) we were stopped by armed robbers who robbed our driver. It took place up the hill, a 4-minute drive from the hotel (less than a kilometer from the hotel). We were lucky and we got through only with fear, but still - caution can never be too much.
