Taking into consideration the price of the room and the service offered/breakfast included, I think it is not a bad option. The same kind of hotel in Copacabana or Ipanema would be the double of the price without being cleaner or better. The service is not optimal, maybe because there is less staff for the number of guests but people at the reception were friendly and supportive with us.

Even being at a walking distance from Escadaria Selaron and the center of Lapa, is not a safe neiborhood during night and you will always need a Uber. Service and cleaning could be enhanced but in general taking into consideration the same ratio between place and cost, it is a good one. We only spent one night and then we decided to move in a very nice AirBnb in Santa Teresa.

CHEER-RIO

Located in heart of Lapa, Santa Teresa a stones throw away. great maintained grounds & pool. Superb breakfast, omelette bar. Rooms with garden & pool view . Waffle bathrobes. Staff were great. If you’re coming to Rio, do the beaches then have a few days here for the real Rio.

If I had to pick something, maybe the pillows, they were way too soft for me.

A quiet and pleasant place to stay in the center of Rio.

We arrived at the hotel at about 10pm at night and it was super easy and fast to check in and get to our room. There was a small shop right next door to get some beverages and snacks at that hour, which was good because it felt a little unsafe to walk too far in the neighborhood. It was a Saturday night and it was very busy in the area. We had a king size bed which was super comfortable. The AC worked great and the breakfast in the morning was nice. Unfortunately it was rainy and cold when we were there so we didn't get to use the pool but it looked beautiful. We were also able to leave our luggage in a locked room until 5pm on our checkout day which was great!

I wish the breakfast had a few vegan options like some vegan buttery spread, a milk alternative, or cheez. But there was so many things, it was easy to find something good for vegans. It would also be nice if the pool and bar area were open later into the evening, they are only open 10am-6pm.

Very good place to enjoy Rio

The position at the city center and not far from the Metro is excellent. Furthermore, the Hotel is very close to many restaurants and bars. The rooms are very big and comfortable. If you don't want to walk to the sea, you can use their swimming pool

My room had a weird “hospital” smell, and I needed to go to reception 3/4x a day to register my key, as it kept erasing the room details.

The hotel in Lapa is decent. No amenities to speak of but decent basic accommodation

The location in Lapa was great. Breakfast was very good.

The throw rug in the room was filthy. I had to buy a currency adapter even though I had a 220 volt adapter that did not work there. The room was rather sparse.

The restaurant is delicious! Not great service but the food is very high quality. The front desk service is great. The spa is average but nice to have it... The room was clean and relatively comfortable, small.

historic and stylish hotel with great pool area centrally. Amazingly ambient in otherwise noisy area.

Very long wait to check in - arrived early (1400) and Did not get room until 1530. Better bread (cafe de manha - mostly white), and should have tomato -

The beds are very comfortable and the room was sufficiently spacious.

The rooms have poor acustic isolation so you will always hear your neighbours. The queue at breakfast was immense and given the size of the hotel, the choices of breakfast very limited and much of the food tasted as if it was not fresh. Due to the lack of proper organisation and inefficiency, one has to stand in several queues to do first registration then if the room is not ready, a check-in, check-out, etc.

Cool hotel with history, nice personnel as all Brazilians, spacious rooms, full hot breakfast

I liked the personnel, spacious rooms, breakfasts, and location. You won’t be disappointed to stay here. FYI: check ins/check outs on a slower side so plan it ahead.

The only thing I can complain about is the sink - water stayed there forever, but I guess it’s a problem of Rio in general or at least the hotels in downtown. I stayed in another hotel that had the same issue.

Good price for central Rio. But you have to pass through Internet to get the best price ....!

Central position and hood breakfast

Only very few reception staff are speaking english. Furthermore, we had to pass through Booking to obtain the best price, as at reception, all offers were priced higher !! That proves that management cannot offer same advantage and price conditions as Bowling !! The opposite should be possible = give management the possibility to offer "at least" as good conditions as on Bowlings !
