Our host Guido from the start accorded us the warmth and hospitality one would expect from a close friend or family.
The accommodation is a grand home built in 1932 with an enchanting private garden that you can view from the veranda during your delicious breakfast. The neighborhood is cobblestone and on a hill, shielding the property from traffic and noise. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom with fridge, minisplit Air Conditioning and a comfortable bed. We will return!

My wife & I stayed at Guesthouse Bianca twice: over two consecutive weekends, with a trip to Salvador in between. Quite simply, we loved it. First of all, Guido & Francisco are wonderful hosts with lots of fantastic advice on what to do in Rio! Santa Teresa is a wonderful neighborhood for exploring music, food, shopping & culture. The guesthouse itself is lovely. We stayed in two of the four rooms. One had a terrace overlooking Sugarloaf Mountain, including beautiful sunsets. The other was more like a small suite with bed, couch, and humongous bathroom with gorgeous stained glass windows. The breakfasts were incredibly yummy & served on the lush garden terrace. Lastly, when we mentioned our late evening flight home, Guido generously allowed us a late checkout... so helpful. We highly recommend Guesthouse Bianca!

Guesthouse Bianca is a hidden gem perched in Santa Teresa. We especially liked the location, the beautiful building and facilities and the peace and quiet we had in a big city. Plenty of restaurants and bars and also street art too. The local park has great views over Rio. Breakfast on the terrace was a highlight too - we even had hummingbirds for company.
Guido was an excellent host. He gave us lots of information and was especially helpful in organising transport etc. He had pride in the Guesthouse too. At the same time he was not intrusive. Just the perfect balance.
Nothing to mention. Everything was great we wouldn’t change anything. The neighbourhood appears to be a bit shabby, but it is a lively example of Rio life including the street music (which we enjoyed).

Everything, the location, the ambience, the size, the balcony, the breakfast, the staff, Guido, Bianca, the gorgeous garden. A fabulous oasis of calm away from the madness of Rio down below.
My own stupidity for not booking a longer stay.

We like absolutely everything about the property. Guido was a wonderful and helpful host. Breakfast each morning on the terrace was a delight. The location was excellent with many dining choices within a few minutes walk. We stayed a week and would happily have stayed longer.
Our experience was faultless and a truly great introduction to Rio.

A beautiful guest house. Our room was peaceful and a good size with every comfort catered for. It was spotless with a lovely outdoor terrace.
It’s located in a very quiet area but only 10 minutes walk to numerous restaurants and bars. A lovely spot if you want to be away from the maddening crowd. Guido was so helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The house is beautifully designed, filled with art and stylish furniture. The bathroom with stained glass was a true gem. The lush green garden full of flowers was the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast in the morning, pure bliss.
Our host Guido was incredibly charming. He brought breakfast to us each morning and shared great tips about fun things to do in Rio, from cozy restaurants to hidden spots and lovely walks. And of course, there was Bianca, the owner’s gorgeous and very sweet dog, truly a little star.
The accommodation is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood with plenty of nice bars and restaurants, perfect for dinner in the evening or a relaxed lunch during the day. The area is great for strolling around, with beautiful graffiti, unique houses, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
In short: highly recommended. We would love to come back!

- The room was impeccable: it had (almost) everything we needed and was very stylish.
- Breakfast was delicious and on a stunning terrace with beautiful garden views.
- Guido was very helpful with recommendations and arranging additional services (e.g. laundry)
- The location is ideal in the heart of the artsy Santa Teresa district and a stone's throw from the city centre and main attractions like Selaron Steps and the Lapa district.
The safe in the room was not working

The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful. Our room was spacious with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It’s the ideal place to come to rest after spending the day in the vibrant city of Rio. The room was cleaned daily and was perfectly clean. We really liked the artistic, hilly area with great views over the city. We walked to restaurants at night and felt absolutely safe. What made is special is Guido who is such a wonderful, mindful host. We couldn‘t have asked for a better place for our first time in Rio.

A beautiful house with fabulous garden. Views of Sugarloaf mountain from bedroom balcony. Nice touches - good hairdryer, robes, honesty bar. Breakfast was divine - fresh juices, fruit, yoghurt, toast, eggs. Owners were super friendly and helpful and Bianca the dog was the calmest loveliest canine companion. Santa Teresa is a fab location away from the bustle of the city but not too far away.

The Bianca is sort of like a private museum (but a VERY comfortable one!) brought to life: a gorgeous colonial-era mansion perched on a Santa Teresa hilltop with balcony views with chairs, a hammock, and views looking out to the sea, offering spectacular sunrises/sets. The interiors of the home are colourful, with exceptional art on the walls and inviting seating areas to be enjoyed while light music by Ella Fitzgerald and other greats wafts through and out onto the patio, where a fresh and varied breakfast is served between 8 and 10 am daily. It’s a very quiet and safe location, too, with the bustling heart of the area just a few minutes’ walk away to shops & restaurants and a major tram stop. The home’s gardens are lush and colourful, alive with hummingbirds and other birds as well. Guido and Francisco were the most helpful and accommodating hosts and made our stay an absolute joy. We will be back and we’ve already told our friends, “You MUST come with us or stay here on your own trip to Rio!” What an absolute treasure the Bianca is, and all for a very reasonable price. This place is a real gem!
For us, there is absolutely nothing we could find fault with.

Guesthouse Bianca is a beautiful large house, decorated with style and love in the Bohemian arts area Santa Teresa. Guido and Fransico are great, taking care of you and giving you tips on Rio de Janeiro and even getting up in the middle of the night when you have to leave for the airport!
The rooms and bathrooms are large and mine had a balcony overlooking the iconic view of Rio.
I certainly will be coming back here!

Perfect short stay in Rio. Our hosts were wonderfully welcoming, their house and gardens simply beautiful. Gorgeous breakfast set us up perfectly for a lovely walk around Santa Teresa, with stunning views from the look out at the park at the end of the street. I wished we could have stayed longer.

Attentive, helpful and very friendly host. Guesthouse is gorgeous and in a very convenient location that feels authentic; it’s far from mass tourism yet close to everything by Uber or cab (I’m a solo traveler and don’t drive); it might take a few more minutes to get an Uber as other reviewers said but it wasn’t a problem at all for me. Breakfast was plentiful and such a peaceful moment every morning, overlooking the beautiful garden (with little monkeys in the mango tree!).
The room I stayed in got pretty bright early in the morning and the birds can be pretty loud so it could be useful to bring an eye mask and earplugs. But these were minor inconveniences for me. All the rest was so wonderful.

We had a perfect stay! The villa is just gorgeous, artistic, charming, perfect and the hosts are nice, Guido and Francisco make you feel like home! Breakfast was the best one we've had during our stay in Brazil so far, served in the garden with light music. Fantastic!

The house is beautiful & comfortable, wonderful garden , very close to all the attractions in Santa Teresa and lots of good restaurants. Guido & Chico are amazing hosts, they gave us many tips & information about what to see & do in the city & served us a great breakfast every morning. They even brought me a mini cake & sang for me on my birthday, which was really sweet & made me start the day happy & smiling. Highly recommended, we stayed for 10 ten days and had a wonderful time.

Guesthouse Bianca is and amazing place to stay in Rio De Janeiro. Santa Teresa is truly the most atmospheric bario of the city. Our host Guido was super super kind with us and helped us in everything starting from the Covid test to a very late and uncomfortble arrival and some misunderstandings with a local taxi driver. The place is amazing, the atmosphere is fabulous. We would definetly recommend and whenever we come back, we will stay at Guido's Guesthouse Bianca.
