Everything perfect

Everything was absolutely perfect, Christina is a very kind and warm person and I felt at home immediately. The neighborhood is super lovely and I cannot recommend Santo Mirante enough, the room and facilities are very clean, the room and kitchen had gorgeous views. It was cleaned every day.

Fantastic stay

The location is great, close to the centre of Santa Teresa but quiet enough. Also, it's fairly easy to get an Uber from the hostel, not much hassle at all. Our host, Chris, is the loveliest, and so are her two puppies. The room is simple but very carefully cleaned, arranged, and maintained, same with the common kitchen area. The hostel was really one of our highlights in Rio.

Loved the area, a really calm local vibe with great music spots and bars around. The property is lovely and set back, feels super safe & calm. Had everything we needed & was super clean.

Lovely and Peaceful Hostel in Rio💖

We stayed at Santo Mirante Hostel during Carnival week, and it was absolutely perfect. Santa Teresa is a wonderful neighborhood, full of charm, with great cafés and restaurants nearby. During Carnival, it becomes the hub of the party, with blocos (street parties) everywhere, if you want to fully experience Carioca life, this is the best place to be! Despite the festive atmosphere, the hostel maintains a sense of calm and peace, making it a great retreat after the celebrations. We chose the room with a breathtaking view of Sugarloaf Mountain, and it was simply stunning. It became our little nest for eight days, and we loved every moment of it. The terrace with its incredible view, the hammock, and the kitchen overlooking the sea were some of our favorite spots to relax. Cristina, the owner, is an amazing host, kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. She assisted us with everything, from hostel-related needs to local recommendations. She cleans and tidies the room once a week, providing fresh towels, a thorough cleaning, and restocking the mini-fridge with drinks. The location is fantastic, you’re close to everything, and with Uber, getting around is super easy. We will forever have a wonderful memory of Rio, and this hostel will always be a part of it. Great hostel, but no group activities.

The view from the room and balcony was magnificent. it was clean and everything you need is there. Santa Teresa is my favourite part of Rio. But, as always, watch out during the night.

What I normally like about hostels is group and social activities or tours.

Completamente agradável e confortante.

É bem localizado, tem uma vista maravilhosa e a anfitriã super solicita e atenciosa. A acomodação super agradável, a cozinha compartilhada tinha basicamente de tudo pra um bom café da manhã ou lanche da tarde.

Infelizmente, o acesso tem certa dificuldade para quem não tem muito o hábito com ladeiras e escadas. Os ubers tem um certo receito de aceitar por conta das subidas, mas nada que demore muito - comigo, dos dias que fiquei, não passavam de 5 minutos para aceitarem.

Lugar gostosinho de ficar

Fui para o show da Madonna em 2024, voltei para o show da Lady Gaga em 2025. Particularmente o que mais me chama a atenção nesse lugar é a localização, que é para quem gosta de ver um Rio mais raiz, rústico, boêmio e clássico. Rua de pedrinhas, bares maravilhoso, um clima de cidade antiga muito bacana. Fica no alto de Santa Teresa, mas próximo à estação da Glória, basta descer a escadaria e descer a rua. Outro ponto a destacar é o carisma e a hospitalidade da hostess Cristina, que é um amor, muito solidária, preocupada e divertida. Esse eu recomendo e muito!

Die Besitzerin ist mega-nett und hat uns mit vielen Tipps versorgt. Zimmer hatte Klimanalage und einen wunderbaren Blick vom Bett aus. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, alles war da und hat funktioniert.

das Zimmer war nicht besonders gross, es gibt keinen Stuhl oder Tisch (aber auf dem Bett sitzt es sich ganz gut).
