Hospitality, grace and a wonderful view

I can't think of two better hosts than Carmen and Fernando. Their home is absolutely beautiful and it feels like you're doing a homestay with a Brazilian family. The kindness that they showed me is unparalleled and enough to replenish my faith in humanity even during these trying times! The home is stunning, really a classic place and very clean. I found the shared kitchen area to be impeccable. The location is ideal, just a few minutes from central Santa Teresa and only 10 minutes from Lapa. Didn't get to use the pool as it was raining, but enjoyed the stunning view of the city. Carmen shared a lot of history with me, about the house and the neighborhood. It's really like taking a step back in time, and it's a tremendous way to experience a living part of Brazilian history.

I would absolutely stay here again, but would choose one of the lower level rooms as I had trouble with the narrow staircase and despite the AC, the upstairs room was a bit warm for me (though it was very hot outside during my visit).The internet could be stronger. I don't think these are issues aside from the small balcony room, which is for someone agile. But it's private and has amazing views!

Beautiful house with lots of art to discover. The room is very cozy and you have an amazing view over Rio. Carmen and Fernando are very kind and sweet and try to help with everything you need. It really felt like home there.

Carmen was an amazing hostess. She was very helpful and offered advice and help regarding metro, motorbike taxi back up the hill and places to visit including exploring the local Santa Teresa area. The room and accommodation were lovely, the view from the private balcony was amazing. It was perfectly located to explore whilst in a safe, quiet location. I was made most welcome and would certainly stay again if revisiting Rio.

I loved it all. The whole property is like an art gallery. The host are so nice and welcoming. The hous is located in bohemian St.Teresa and the view from the balcony is unbeatable. I wish I stayed longer.

Carmen is really kind, really helpful and give you a lot advices to visit the city and best places in Santa Teresa ( example : Bar do Serginho close to the Casa ). The view from the balcony is incredible to watch the sunrise !

A recepção de Carmen e Fernando é excepcional. A casa possui uma decoração extremamente aconchegante e que reflete a boa energia dos anfitriões. A cama é bastante confortável, há ar condicionado no quarto e a varanda possui uma vista incrível. Tudo também sempre muito limpo !
