You get what you pay for. It was cheap and okay to just sleep in the bed but the bathrooms really killed it

Nice café to work and eat

The bathrooms were so dirty, basically unusable. My room was weirdly humid and smelled really bad. The bunk beds were pretty crammed.

I really liked this hostel because I met some good people there but if I have to be totally objective... - The hostel is well located, 7 minutes walk from a metro stop and close to Lapa for those who want to go out and party. - The common area for work is really beautiful. - The kitchen is rather well equipped for utensils. - Free drinking water. - Hot water in the showers.

- The kitchen does not have chairs so you have to go to the common room to eat and the wooden chairs are not comfortable because there are no cushions and there are no sofas either. - The beds in the women's rooms are horrible, it's a 3-tiered iron bed which makes a lot of noise and where you don't have space to get up or you hit your head. - The staff were talking loudly in the reception until 11pm so it was impossible to sleep as the women's room is stuck to the reception. - No curtains on the beds

The triple bunk beds are too narrow and oppressive, making it difficult to relax. No change was provided when I paid for the room. The air conditioning was too strong and it was cold.

the rooms are small and can easily get very crowded. triple bunk beds aren’t the best. the area is a bit of dodgy area though

The staff were abit rude, I think one of the staff filled the water container with bad tap water! I felt very sick!

Amazing volunteers

Amazing volunteers! Very friendly and helpful Big area to eat/chill Good location in the centre for us, public transport very accessible They were happy for us to leave our bags in the morning before check in which was helpful

The bunk bed would come towards you when trying to get on the top one. Very unstable and noisy. Has kitchen which is great however always over crowded and no room to cook. Queues to have a shower as only 1 shower for 12 plus other showers broke so everyone was using the same one. Bathroom was the worst part. Nowhere to put your clothes, tiny space to get changed, quite dirty all the time

Better to take a taxi direct from the airport to elsewhere

Affordable and easy to reach from the airport

Got kicked out of the common area after midnight despite quietly sitting making no noise. It’s an open area by the entrance so it doesn’t get locked at all. Some lady just seemed keen on going on a power trip….. beds very uncomfortable and the middle bunk is difficult to get into if you’re tall. no room whatsoever

Good for 1 night

Staff was really kind and offered me water in a really hot day. Good for 1 night I stayed there. Facilities are good as well.

First experience in a tri bed bunk. I was gaven the bed in the middle and didn't like it. Hit my head a few times and couldn't move with confort. I would not recommend that. Hostel is in a 2nd floor but there's no any sign to distinguish from other doors. Kind of confusing, honestly. And the area is full of homeless which does not give any sense of security. However, that explains the price per night. Fair.

The staff, the owners, the guests and the hostal as a whole were amazing. Came for a week ended up staying for 5 weeks. PEM will always have a special place in my heart and will miss and love everyone i met during my stay❤️❤️❤️
