I wouldn’t recommend for woman, too extreme

the girl at the reception was so kind and tried her best to help

the bed was like 5 meter high so I chose to not stay there, I didnt got a refund. also, the rooms are only mixed, and 3 beds bunk. meaning it is strangely high and not comfortable especially for girls. and the guys had all their shoes and sports equipment in the middle of the room yaks I ran for my life lol I booked it one hour before arrival and chose not to stay so I expected a refund, but no

Do not stay here if you want to sleep

The breakfast was pretty good. Next to the metro but the area is quite dodgy.

Noisy! Although there is a quiet time but people are very disrespectful and talk until 2am very loud in the bar area and all the noise goes into the room. Then the same starts at 5am when they return from the party. I don’t get how the night receptionist doesn’t tell them to be quiet. Also all the marijuana smoke goes into the room as people smoke basically inside the building! Also all the light comes into the room from the outside so if you want to sleep honestly don’t come here. They also don’t give the room you booked. On purpose I booked the room with 3x double bunks not triple, even messaged to make sure it’s not triple and got confirmation and when I arrived they wanted to put me to the top of a triple bunk and said the other room I booked is full. How?! After insisting, the girl was nice and moved me to the room I booked but this should not be like this…respect people’s booking especially when you have different pricing for all rooms. The showers are also super uncomfortable.

Very good

I reserved a bed because my bus arrived in Rio at 5am and I wanted somewhere to go and be able to take a nap and clean up before taking a flight in the pm. It worked out well, someone was up to check me in and show me my bed without any fuss. The breakfast was very good, the staff helped me to organise some things and there was a friendly vibe. The location is also good, close to the metro, restaurants, supermarkets and a beach. I'll definitely stay there again. Another point for the privacy curtains around the beds.

Breakfast included (with pancakes! :)) and super nice staff Supermarket nearby Whatsapp group with all guest, which is super cool! Activities during the day (some payed, some free) Night life nearby (but dangerous to walk to)

I didn't find the location very good... I always felt unsafe in the zone (it was honestly a deal breaker for me). I was in Leblon the week before and I felt much safer. The bathroom wasn't very tidy, always flooded. The vibe of the hostel didn't match 100% mine, but it's a personal opinion.

The volunteers, staff and friends are awesome. Location to party is awesome, I recommend "baile do Santo Amaro", every Saturday at the favela Santo Amaro, you will see a real favela baile funk

A very cute place in an affordable price

The hostel has a very cozy atmosphere, it feels like a home with welcoming common areas. Breakfast was good and most of the staff was nice. It's a short walk / taxi drive from Lapa party area and you can take the metro to get to the beaches.

The only bad thing about this hostel is that they were fully booked and I had to find another place after one night.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at…

The staff there where some of the great human beings. Myris, Diogo and FABIOOOOOO where so helpful and kind. One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at, made some mates for life and had some of the best parties ever. All organised by the hostel. Like many others discovery will always have a special place in my heart. Peace and love - Thorpy ❤️

Social hostel!

Went to celebrate the new year and the staff actually bought limited metro ticket for the whole hostel so...well done! Hostel was very social with good vibes. Bed was nice with curtains and personal plug.

There was no information given about the city during check in so you are left to figure out on your own. Toilets were limited. Bed arrangement was quite poor. I had to change bed twice during a 5 night stay and was told so only close to midnight. As such, I managed to misplace quite a sum of loose money in the midst of packing :(

The private rooms back onto the outside common area so if it’s a busy night you can hear everything and you lose your privacy if you open a window.

Our room was right beside the kitchen there was constant noise from 6am onwards. By 8am it felt like there was 20 people in our room with the noise levels.

Amazing Hostel with the greatest people!

They make such a big effort to offer an amazing buffet freshly made every morning. Coffee always available. The beds have curtains for more privacy which I value a lot. Also the whole house has such a good vibe, the staff is so friendly and is helping you with any problem that might occur. The place is very clean, not only the rooms and bathrooms but also the kitchen is constantly being cleaned. I also like that the guests are also more cautious with the place and keep everything clean as possible. You meet amazing people here - either travelers or the people that work here. You can make some amazing memories here. I love this place and it’s my second home now in Brazil!

Unfortunately the Wi-Fi doesn’t work very well from time to time. Although I couldn’t manage to work from there and have video calls.

The atmosphere was the best! cosy, positive and friendly. Also very good breakfast! and hot showers. Fábio, Chacha, Mirys and Ana were SPECTACULAR! great amazing staff, couldnt been better 10/10

I was on the second floor and the bathroom was downstairs 🤷🏻‍♀️
