Amazing, quaint bed and breakfast near the heart of Santa Teresa

The property is super close to the main square of Santa Teresa, just a block away, so you have the quiet feeling of a local neighborhood while being a short distance from all the action. While staying there you have use of a kitchen, fridge, hammocks, communal TV. It has a community vibe, well decorated, quaint and cozy. The people who own it are very nice, helpful, kind; it feels like family. They were very kind to make my room comfortable with my sensitivities to fragrances too which I really appreciate. We enjoyed our stay there very much and miss it already.

Nothing. Just be mindful of the sizes of suitcases you bring because there are tight stairs descending into the location; Santa Teresa is hilly and this is normal.

Great value for money, amazing atmosphere and location. No complaints!

The staff were so friendly and amazing, the other guests were also so nice. Breakfast was a really nice touch. The vibe felt almost family-like. The location was perfect, some amazing restaurants and bars very close by. It made for an amazing atmosphere, I was very impressed.

The pillows could have been a bit more fluffy but it was still pretty comfortable.

A perfect stay and with beautiful memories made

It was the best surprise I’ve had booking somewhere, this is the first review I’ve left on booking.com. The place has comfortable beds. The owners become family to you and I’ll remember this stay forever! They make you feel so comfortable and are so kind and warm. Cacaia also makes the most amazing breakfast everyday! Thank you so much Cacaia and Henrique!

Big common area, friendly hosts.

Cool neighbourood but far from some tourist attractions and Ubers don't like to take you at times because the area is difficult to navigate and throws off their GPS. The hostel doesn't have a sign out front so it was difficult to identify where the hosetl was and what door to go through. Doors to the room didn't lock properly

Cacaia and Enrique are very warm and welcoming. I felt like home. The areas are clean and good to hang out with other travelers and meet new people. I only stayed for short period but would have loved to stay longer. Ps. Cacaia's Bolos are really tasty!!

Lovely hosts

Cacaia and Henrique are incredibly welcoming, they helped me with everything I needed. There are fans and airconditioning in the rooms, every bed has a curtain and the backyard area is really spaceous and comfortable :)

Wifi was a bit slow in the room, however it's working perfectly upstairs. Plus they are working on better wifi downstairs.

Cacaia was so lovely, I wish her all the best! Also this hostel easily lends itself to meet new people, very nice common area.

The big dorm wasn't very Feng shui or however you spell that. Slightly noisy too, but nothing some earplugs can't overcome.

Location - metro accessibility, proximity to SDU airport. Within walking distance of Sambadrome. Santa Teresa district has a decent selection of shops and dining establishments (i.e. Portela) within a block or two.

Situated on a hill. Coming from the north or from the nearest metro station (Gloria), you have to walk quite a bit uphill to get to it.

Home away from home.

Cacaia and Henrique are the sweetest people. They became like mother and father to my group of friends at the hostel. They really make you feel at home and look after you. One day I was leaving early, before breakfast, so Henrique got up early to prepare something for me, they were worried about me going out without eating. I wanted to stay at the hostel a few days longer than planned but it was fully booked, so they offered the hammock, which I took happily. If I return to Rio, I will go to stay with Mama Cacaia and Papa Henrique.

Todo! Cacaia y Henrique es una pareja muy muy linda y se siente que hacen todo con el corazón. La casa es muy grande con el patio afuera. El desayuno es riquísimo y hecho por Cacaia. Sin duda volveré y con mucho gusto Gracias por tenerme aunque fue solo por 1 noche.

Os anfitriões são super simpáticos

Cheguei um pouco antes do check in, pois naquele dia iria a um show e gostaria de só deixar minhas malas e utilizar o banheiro. Não foram muito flexíveis quanto a isso e o banheiro que deixaram para utilizar era bem pequeno, quase não me cabia mesmo, sem espelho e sem pia dentro. A minha cama era a única que batia a cabeça no teto da outra, no qual causava desconforto de não poder ficar nela sentada, tendo que sair sempre.

Ganz tolle Unterkunft mit herzlichen Besitzern mitten in Santa Teresa.

Cacaia und Henrique haben einen ganz tollen Ort mitten in Santa Teresa erschaffen. Ich habe mich total wohlgefühlt. Die beiden sind super nett, hilfsbereit und fürsorglich. Sie geben einem das Gefühl von zu Hause, auch wenn man am anderen Ende der Welt ist (oder in meinem Fall auf einem anderen Kontinent). Die Lage ist super, ruhig aber super zentral und meiner Meinung nach auch sehr sicher. Es ist außerdem sehr sauber und man hat genug Platz für sein Gepäck. Ich kann die Unterkunft jedem empfehlen!

Santa Teresa é um ótimo destino para relaxar

Tive uma ótima experiência!! Cacaia e Henrique são muito acolhedores, eu recomendo esse hostel! Pegamos um quarto privativo duplo, nos atendeu super bem. O hostel tem um perfil mais “família”, ambiente bastante acolhedor, área social interativa, cozinha bem equipada com utensílios, espaço gourmet para churrasco, espaço incrível para relaxar! Está localizado numa região muito bonita, preservada, característica de Santa Teresa, com diversas opções de bares e restaurantes, o espaço é extremamente bem cuidado, limpo e muito bem estruturado. A região tem bastante estrangeiro, mas todos muito centrados, maduros, não tem aquele perfil de festa e loucura o dia todo. O hostel fica há 15 minutos caminhando, tanto do Metrô Glória, quanto Escadaria Selaron, com direito a paisagens lindíssimas.

Santa Teresa é LINDA, tem paisagens panorâmicas MUITO bonitas da cidade, exatamente por ser um região “alta” da cidade. Consequentemente, há muitas ladeiras e escadas, então é importante que você pesquise a respeito, apesar de ser uma caminhada gostosa.

A localização da acomodação da Cacaia e do Henrique é muito boa (centro do RJ), porém, é importante ressaltar que está situada em um bairro com muitas ladeiras. Muitas vezes é difícil pedir uber porque os motoristas se recusam a subir as ladeiras de Santa Teresa. Esse é um ponto a ser considerado, tendo em vista que os turistas tendem ou preferem se locomover por esse meio de transporte. Ainda que seja possível se locomover a pé, é muito difícil porque são ladeiras muito íngremes. Essa foi minha única grande insatisfação com a região, mas sei que essa questão não depende do anfritiões, que foram muito prestativos e solícitos. Não tivemos qualquer tipo de problemas com a hospedagem, a estadia foi tranquila.

A região é cheia de ladeiras, o que invariavelmente compromete a locomoção, seja a pé ou de uber (a maioria dos motoristas se recusam a aceitar corridas para o bairro de Santa Teresa). Quando aceitam, costumam demorar muito para chegar.
