Beautiful and relaxed stay

Peaceful and comfortable property in a beautiful neighborhood. Staff was very kind and made sure all of our needs were meet. Room and facilities were clean and spacious as well as the pool and yard. Breakfast was delicious and the owners very pleasant. Storage of our luggage was provide after check out and Taxi was arrange for our departure at the airport. Highly recommend this property for a relaxing stay.

Grocery stores are a bit far but you can always have food deliver to the property.

The grounds and setting were beautiful. Breakfast on the terrace was great. Pool area stunning and mini bar option very good.

No tissues in room. There are a lot of stairs for those with heavy suitcases. WIFI was slow.

Beautiful b&b in an amazing area of Rio

Most beautiful and characteristic b&b we’ve ever stayed in. I kept on gazing, everything is so beautiful. The hosts were also very kind and helpful. Wish we had homes like these in Holland. Also, the area was really the most vibrant place we have been in Rio. We absolutely LOVED it.

Nothing really. If i really had to think of something... Maybe it would be nice to have some filtered tapwater in the fridge from the guests all the time. It was there sometimes, but when we forgot to buy water ourselves, we got really thirsty when the carafe wasn’t refilled during the evening/ night. But that was our own mistake! So no real ‘comment’ for the host :)

Beautiful oasis in the heart of Santa Teresa

Excellent tips and care from our host Bindu! We had a hospital emergency while we were there and got incredible support from our host who even let us move to a ground floor room to accommodate reduced mobility. Beautiful spaces created with a lot flare.

Amazing stay

Stunning property. Location in Santa Teresa was great, felt safe and heaps of great restaurants. Bindu and the rest of the Casa Beleza family were amazing and gave us lots of suggestions of places to see, transport and where to eat.

There were a lot of stairs which wasn't a problem for us but keep in mind if you have lots of bags.

Loved it - would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

The hosts are fabulous, nothing is too much trouble and the whole place is run with a relaxed vibe. The property feels like a little haven surrounded by lush tropical plants and trees but its central to some fabulous bars and restaurants where you get a true taste of Brazilian nightlife.

Nothing - except the weather!! The property has some great little shady or sun bathing spots which we sadly didn’t get to use due to inclement weather. However, the area of Santa Teresa is a great place to explore and it’s only a short hop to go to see the bigger touristy spots.

Fabulous!

Casa Beleza is a beautiful place in Santa Teresa, which has a cool bohemian artsy vibe . We had a wonderful stay, very peaceful, nice comfy room, huge bathroom , great fresh breakfast on the terrace. Antoine and Bindu were very friendly and gave us lots of helpful tips and recommendations. They also have a gorgeous dog , Snoopy ! Highly recommend.

Haven of peace and greenery in Santa Teresa

Great neighbourhood in Santa Teresa, walking distance to several restaurants and bars, at the same time, the place is very quiet at night, spatious room, lovely house with a garden and a terrace, surrounded by greenery, great breakfast on the terrace, nice host, who contacted us ahead of our stay

Stop looking and book this place!

We absolutely loved this place, from the wonderful owner through to the amazing garden space and pool area. Snoopy the dog and Ivan the tortoise are also absolutely adorable as they wander the grounds. Breakfasts are huge and generous, an honesty bar with low cost beers and cokes is available. The area is beautiful, full of cafes, bars, restaurants and an easy walk to free walking tours if you fancy it. Live music is pretty much everywhere.

Great atmosphere matching the neighborhood

What a slice of heaven in a great neighborhood! The owner was very accommodating and the atmosphere matched the area. Great breakfast out in the verandah nearby the pool. If you are lucky you might even hear a little of the professional musician practicing the piano! Highly recommended. Enjoy!

The property is beautiful. The host is wonderful, super friendly and offered many great suggestions. They offered a lovely breakfast with a wide variety of food, including assorted fruits, crepes, breads, eggs, fresh juice, coffee & tea.

The moist tropical climate has made the bed covers and curtains quite musty. They need to be washed.

Come to Casa Beleza and Feel Like Family!

Bindu and her husband are AMAZING hosts and made me feel right at home. When they learned of my interests, they were sure to give me their personal recommendations of places to visit and go while in Rio! The location is walking distance to everything but quiet enough to get a great night's sleep. As a solo woman traveling, I felt extremely safe walking at night, and there was a guard posted on one of the nearby streets as well. My bed was comfortable, room was spacious, and breakfast was tasty with the natural.juice being different each day :-). I would HIGHLY recommend staying here (Sta Theresa) over the busier areas in Rio. As I stayed in Copacabana and Casa Beleza the only thing to note is that sometimes Ubers don't care to take you because it's a lot of driving uphill and some drivers don't know how to follow the GPS to the house (my last driver got lost is how I know). But this only happened to me once, and I wouldn't change staying here at all as Bindu also has a taxi service she offers guests!

Everything was great! I would just keep a landmark handy for Uber if you don't rely on the called taxi service which is higher priced.

Gorgeous property in the hilly district of Santa Teresa. Friendly dog and two tortoises wander around the gardens.

Note there are steps to negotiate with luggage to all rooms. The rooms external to the house have lots more steep steps.

Amazing experience in Rio

We really enjoyed staying here. The house and the garden are beautiful and the hosts made us feel very welcome. The breakfast is amazing and we enjoyed the terrace every morning. We loved Santa Teresa neighbourhood and would definitely stay again!

The perfect stay in Santa Teresa!

This is a beautiful house in Santa Teresa with a great swimming pool. Bindu and Antoine are superb hosts and they gave us great insight of things to do in Santa Teresa and in Rio. The breakfast was varied and delicious. We had a fantastic and quiet room away from the main house and with a beautiful view to downtown. It felt like staying in a treehouse where monkeys, birds and butterflies came to visit us. This is the perfect place to stay in Santa Teresa with easy access to our favourite bars and restaurants.

Oasis near the centre of Rio

Run by a lovely hospitable couple who speak excellent English this is an exceptional guest house in a lovely quiet part of Rio. We stayed in bungalow no 2 which was so comfortable and clean with a great rain shower and upstairs area, gardens are beautiful and well maintained. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance and area felt safe to wander around in. Bindu organised a couple of tours for us , we particularly enjoyed going out with Claudio to see the historic parts of Rio. Such an amazing city and this was the perfect place to stay.

Great option, especially for those traveling on a budget.

Awesome breakfast: really generous helping of fruit, eggs, cheese, bread, tea/coffee and cereal. The portions were so large I was usually so full I wouldn't even need to eat lunch. Nice Hosts: Bindu and Antoine were really nice hosts. Always happy to give travel tips, answer question and they really had a positive vibe/attitude. Aesthetics: The place itself was beautiful from the outdoor areas to the interior design. As an animal person, it was also really cool to see different kinds of birds, lizards and the pet turtles. Location: I loved Santa Teresa, as many other reviews suggest its a great place to mix with locals but still quite safe as well as do tourist activities. Also really great hikes and awesome views.

Comfort: The biggest thing for me was the lack of air conditioning especially in the middle of Brazilian summer, a fan really doesn't do the job. The property is also a bit small, it's hard to tell from the pictures but there isn't much space to roam. Even the pool is only about 4 metres long, great for cooling yourself off in the heat but not ideal for a swim. Check Out: I'm nitpicking a little here but an 11 am check out is slightly early, most properties I've been to, allow for a midday check out especially on weekends. You're also typically allowed to stay on the property and use any shared facilities until you're ready to leave, provided you've checked out of your room. Therefore, I was a little disappointed to learn that if I wanted to remain on the property until my flight later that day, I would have to pay extra. At the very least, they did let me leave my stuff in the garage for free.

Spectacular setting with very helpful owners and a great breakfast

An absolutely beautiful setting, great rooms (I tried two) and a fantastic breakfast! The owners are very helpful. And there’s a lovely bar 5 minutes walk away. I can’t recommend this place more highly!

Comfortable stay in friendly, personal guest house.

Breakfast was very nice and served in the garden. The pool was great to at the end of a warm day in Rio. The neighborhood is very green (lots of trees and birds) and has plenty of good restaurants and bars. The owners provided many helpful tips concerning safety and suggestions on what to visit Rio de Janeiro. I would love to come back in the future.

Traditional house with lovely period rooms, it had character! It’s also in a great location, with bars and restaurants near. we found it easy to get taxi’s into the main Tourist areas and back.

For those with limited movement, the stairs in the upper rooms could be an issue, but I know the owners are at pains to explain this to all that book.
