super personal attention and a fantastic WhatsApp information / communication service that really worked for us. Everything can be communicated. The hotel even looked after us and made sure we got back to the hotel safely at night during the recent Police raid in Rio de Janeiro when the city became really unsafe.

This hotel is more like a large house with only 7 rooms set on the top of a hill in Santa Teresa overlooking the city of Rio and the Sugarloaf mountain. The views are truly spectacular from the room and the outside area by the pool.
Both the rooms and the public areas of the hotel and the grounds were immaculately clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a lot of interesting history associated with the estate and the furniture and decor reflect that. We felt that we were treated by the staff as valued house guests, not just visitors.
Dinner was excellent and good value for money.
The breakfast included hot and cold options with several items that were locally produced. Portion sizes were great and all the food tasted wonderful. Service was excellent with the chance to eat outside with an amazing view or inside.
The local area is interesting and we walked into Santa Teresa town. The historic tram can stop right outside the entrance to the grounds. The grounds and the hotel are only accessible through a gate which has 24/7 security with armed guards. We certainly had no concerns for safety during our stay.
A very minor point. The hotel is set in a private estate which has guards at the entrance. When we arrived there was a few minutes delay. However once the hotel notified the guards of our name then it was easy. The hotel is correctly marked for Uber and so drivers could find it easily. For google maps the security entrance is marked as the hotel which is incorrect.
Some people may be upset at the flights into Rio SUD airport which in the morning from about 8am can fly over the hotel. It didn't worry us, we like seeing the aeroplanes curve in to land and there's nothing the hotel can do about the flight path.

Beautiful hotel with amazing staff. Stunning views, the rooms were amazingly comfortable and the food / bar served exquisite food. Pretty much a perfect hotel!
Only a few minor things but worth mentioning given the cost for 1 night - there were works going on by the pool when we were there (drilling and hammering) both days which we had to ask to stop, the sauna was broken and not in use and the pool needed a clean as there were many bugs in it.

Beautiful estate, clean, incredible views.
The place is really magical.
Probably the next hotel view in all of rio.
Location is a little tricky.. best to go in and out during the day, and stay on the grounds at night.

it’s a beautiful location in a nice neighborhood and with stunning scenery. it’s very private and not busy and you feel like it’s a quiet retreat from the chaos of rio- the service on every level was fabulous. we would definitely recommend it and although we were one of only two couples there we felt very safe and comfortable.
the pool is a bit tired but everything else is amazing!

absolutely stunning estate at the top of a huge hill overlooking Río. beautiful grounds, beautiful villa, and really wonderful setting
the route to get there is complex, and once you are up at the property, it is difficult to head in and out given the time it takes for taxis or ubers to get through the gates. I was initially driving myself and had a very bad (and scary) time as Google maps routed me down a very dangerous street inadvertently - I would strongly encourage those coming from abroad or unfamiliar with Río to not even consider driving themselves, and think carefully about access to avoid being in uncomfortable situations. the hotel was great at advising me on safer routes and also helping me explain to ubers my preferences subsequently, but I wish I had known in advance
if you are planning to be self contained and stay mostly within the property, or keep your movements to a minimum, I would highly recommend, but would really strongly encourage thinking twice about accessibility.

I loved the view, we could see the Cristo redentor, Pão de Açúcar, o estádio! Super quiet, very secluded, we felted we were the whole time like in or own house or like at our grandma’s house, one night we got to the hotel around 1am and it was so quiet and almost all the lights was off we felted just home! It was an amazing feeling!
It was not a regular hotel, it was an Amazing “family house”! ❤️
The staffs was just so lovely, serving an amazing breakfast, always ready to help us with anything we needed!
Thank you to Everton, Yasmin, Duarte, Vinicius for the amazing job
I wouldn’t say “I didn’t like”
It’s just a tip that the hotel should keep a few vila Santa Teresa drivers 🚗 if in case the guests needs it!
When rains it’s very hard to find a ride ( Uber, cab) to take to the top of Santa Teresa because it’s very slippery!
But just a tip! ❤️
I miss Rio and this amazing hotel! For sure it’s in my first choice when I come back to Rio de Janeiro!

Staff is extremely welcoming and always available to help. They always made us feel welcomed, special, and pampered. I do not recall everyone’s names and would love to thank them here: Everton, Vinicius, Juan, and everyone else. The wireless internet is excellent, I was able to host a 2h video conference with over 30 participants with no problems.

It’s such a beautiful place, nice and clean and the spa is perfect as well!
Also the food is delicious and not overpriced!
If they could heat up the pool that would be perfect
