Worst night of my life, chose this hotel because we were very tired and came of the ferry late and tought it was better to continue our journey the next day.
But without any warning of staff the noise in the evening from outside was just too awfull to describe, drums, not to describe loud music, fireworks and so loud till later as 3am, headache and totally impossible to sleep.

The hotel is very good, very clean and in a very nice location. Warm and comfortable.
We booked this hotel because of the facilities advertised, ie, Hotel restaurant, Restaurants within walking distance! After a 1000km drive from Barcelona we arrived to find no restaurant and no restaurants open within walking distance, our evening meal consisted of a bowl of salted peanuts which the receptionist kindly gave us. This was on a Friday night in January so I would hazard a guess if the restaurants dont open on Friday night they don't open at all so I would suggest that the hotel description needs updating.

Central location and nice friendly staff who were very helpful and spoke English. 25 minutes to DFDS ferry. Manned front desk 24 hours.

Very convenient for the ferry and close to nice restaurants.
We liked everything

Location was good for cycling to the ferry port next morning.
Room basic but clean. Nice decor to the reception and bar area. Helpful in providing secure storage for our bike.
The restaurant was not open which we were relying on after a 108km cycle from Bruges.
Apparently does not serve food on a Friday evening which left choice of only 2 restaurant in the town. The one we decided on was distinctly average food with unhelpful staff !
Only one bath towel and one hand for 2 adults. I guess they don’t get many English tourists passing through as not the warmest of welcome to this hotel or town

The location
Breakfast was mediocre and expensive €14.
Staff aloof!
Restaurant closed on the evening of our arrival, Sunday

It was convenient for the tunnel and the beach and exploring the town
There was an adjacent bar where very loud “music” (basically drum and bass) played until past 2 am. This was said to be a ‘music festival’ but the ‘music’ was poor and the ability of the musicians appeared to be in inverse proportion to the volume. The festival’ appeared limited to the one bar.
The hotel was adequate but the food, advertised as ‘gourmet’ was pretty ordinary.

The dinner, bistro service and menu choice were good. The dessert of ruby bounty was extremely good. Breakfast pancakes were good as was the choice of fruit, bread, jam etc.
Cramped space in the bathroom left me with bruised elbows, as the edge of the tiled wall was so close and the loo paper was hard to access without twisting your back.

Great location. Easy to park (although it was market day the next morning so we had to park a little further away but not a problem and not expensive). Nice room and a decent breakfast.
Nothing really. It was all fine. The restaurant menu was a bit basic but it was ok for us.

We had booked 2 rooms as we are a big family, when we got to the hotel are rooms where not together and worse still on different floors, every other hotel we stayed in were we had 2 rooms had them together. A window in one of the rooms did not shut or lock and was held shut with a weighted object. During the night there was a lot of noise from other guests who had clearly been drinking and were banging on doors and shouting. I had my two boys with me who are 2 and 4!!

Nice location for our last stop before ferry to Dover. Room is basic but well situated. Free parking in front of hotel in the weekend, otherwise you have to walk a bit. Actually a nice town.
Room is very basic but fine for one night.

Location!
The room:
- odd and very pungent smell, like they painted recently
- the electrical plugs around the desk did not work at all, we could only use the one by the bathroom on the floor and the hair dryer plug to charge phones
- there were no night lights by the bed, even though there were switches (see photo: i assume they will install them eventually but it was annoying to only have the ceiling white light that was switched on&off by the door)
- bathroom is outdated, tiles were just painted and the water mixer where you regulate temperature was loose from tub, so it would move while trying to operate
- no hangers available
- the window lock was also loose, it came off every time you opened or closed the window

We booked a meal in the restaurant but was emailed day before the visit to say it was closed. Manage to find a space on the large public car park just in front to be told the car had to be moved by 6AM because of the market, went back out and moved the car to a carpark other end of town and got soaked walking back.
The hotel had a lift, our room had 4 beds in it and was quite small but adequate, the shower was somewhat old fashioned but worked OK. Breakfast was 11 Euro each to eaxpensine for a French breakfast.
Closed restaurant and no parking.

Lovely area, perfect distance from Eurotunnel as a stop over. The public areas (reception, bar, breakfast) were as expected for the price. The reception lounge area was better than expected. The bed linen and towels were bright white and clean and soft.
The room was awful. Dusty, wallpaper bubbling off the walls. Marks on the cheap brown carpets. Bathroom door was chipping and dirty. I have stayed in better youth hostel rooms on school trips. It was 11pm when we got there after a very long drive and our children were exhausted so we just got them straight to bed quickly and got out of the room as soon as possible in the morning.

No air conditioning and couldn’t open the window in one room; very basic facilities and small rooms.

We were late to the restaurant in the evening and we had travelled all day as my husband is disabled but the chef/cook stayed to let us have an evening meal.
Breakfast was good although the toaster was broken.
No real probs.
