Sadly, the upper floor bedrooms in the main, historic part of the building are being refurbished, so we could only have a room in the added-on wing.

A very pleasant interlude whilst travelling through France to the North of England.

It’s ambience- a mixture of traditional French style with modern updates to ensure comfort.

The steps up from the street level to the reception - a minor inconvenience normally, but we arrived during a storm so the steps were wet and therefore a bit hazardous.

Glorious building with a really pretty room.

I realise this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but I woken up several times by the room upstairs running around. Perhaps thicker carpets might help?

Loved the place. It was stylishly old-fashioned and consequently unique.

Location was perfect just off main street, near park, near station, near stop for shuttle bus to the ferry. Selected the simplest breakfast on offer as early departure. Can’t go too wrong with a coffee and croissant.

A few more teabags and coffee sachets in the room would be nice.

Booked room with king size bed 3 weeks earlier. On arrival told only twin bed room. Had to pay 42 euros extra. Spa bath only worked 10 minutes after I got out of it. Women complaining about being charged 8 euros for two bags as we went for breakfast! Second visit as first time was great but never again

Perfect overnight stay, good location and friendly efficient staff.

Location was good, close to the main thoroughfare with plenty of restaurants and very pleasant atmosphere.

Regrettably we found the cooked breakfast very disappointing and virtually inedible. I would suggest that they bump up the continental breakfast and not offer something they can’t deliver.it was truly dreadful.

Really hand location for either the Ferry or Leshuttle

This was only 5 minutes drive to the Le Shuttle , large hotel that had lots of old features which dated back to then late 50's, and full of character. I was surprised that my room was so modern and really comfortable, No food was available on my arrival but Calais high street was a 5 minute walk and recommend the Family Pub for drinks and a meal. I left before breakfast to get my train

Hotel Maurice is a perfect spot for a comfortable, relaxing stay!!

This was an unexpected pleasure. Emily helped us get situated and the hotel was lovely. We took the Chunnel from London to Paris and decided to take the ferry from Calais to Dover to visit Calais and to see the white cliffs of Dover. It was worth the stop and we plan to return. When we do, we will stay at the Hotel Maurice. It was lovely and we loved Calais.

Breakfast was a great disappointment . The cooked food was cold and overcooked and very tired - it seemed to have been there a long time and we breakfasted at 8.30/9 Tea and coffee were poor quality Croissants were dry and seemed stale /not fresh Beer on draught at the bar was flat and tasted off

Great hotel but local eateries were a tense experience.

A beautifully furnished and decorated property in a quiet area. Good location close to the historic town centre and train station (Calais Ville). Welcoming and friendly staff and the room and facilities were clean and appealing. Free shuttle to and from town to ferry and train terminals.

The hotel lift/elevator is tiny (too small for 2 occupants with luggage. No clothes ironing facilities in the hotel was weird. We did our best with French language, but the staff at local eateries were not friendly and seem to resent English speakers.

The wife and i had a brilliant stay and would 100% stay there again.

Hotel is in a brilliant locataion.very quite loads off parking.only a 10min drive from the port and 5 min walk to bars and resutaurants.

Very quite clean and all the staff can speak english.also very pleasant and helpfull.ithe bar area was nice to sit and have a bottle off wine in the evening with the wife.

It has a very musty smell as you walk from reception to room. I felt it was a little expensive Plug sockets are very dodgy, I used the hairdryer and the socket came away from wall as I unplugged it. Doors in the rooms were so noisy as we opened and closed them. I felt very conscious as we arrived after midnight and were trying not to disturb people in rooms next door.

The location is perfect for sights and getting to the main train station. Some great restaurants and bars nearby also! The bed was super comfy and the staff were all lovely to talk to and very helpful!

I was put in a disabled room and I am not, so the shower was pretty awkward to use. The hotel was clearly not that busy but the room I was given was very close to the kitchen, so I was frequently woken up in mornings by staff working. The carpets in my room also had some pretty bad stains, I wouldn't mind but it's not the cheapest place.

Lack of tea and coffee in room (it obviously hadn’t been topped up) very (too) warm and very small roon. Car charging was offered and I plugged in but .. next morning no juice ☹️

Perfect welcoming stay to start our holiday.

Lovely welcome, from very friendly and helpful receptionist. We arrived late at night and it was no problem. Our dog stayed for free - no additional pet charge! Close to a lovely park. Peaceful and beautiful room. The breakfast was varied & plentiful. We plan to come back to see a bit more of Calais. It’s always somewhere we’ve driven straight out of but staying here for one night has made us rethink.
