Overpriced and very poor quality. Do not stay here

The breakfast was fresh and a good variety.

The air conditioning unit was broken. The control panel had been fixed with tape, and kept falling off. This is exposed the wires behind which is extremely dangerous. It crackled through the night with sparks. The room was grubby, which lots of dead bugs squashed on the walls and floors. The bathroom had lots of spiders webs and more dead bugs. It felt like it had not been properly cleaned for some time.

One of my worst stays at a hotel. We booked this hotel because it had AC and allowed pets and had parking. Air conditioning was one of the main reasons to book this hotel because there was a heat wave that day and we were returning from a long trip. We asked the reception before checking in if the AC works, the said it works but if its too hot inside it will cool less , so we hoped at night it will be fine , but we were so wrong, it hardly threw any air , upon asking at the reception if they have any fan , the guy said no they don't have , when I told him AC is not cooling he said it doesn't work. We suffered throughout the night and have 4 hours drive ahead. Also the rooms door was so tight , extremely difficult to open or close , bathroom door didn't close. Overcharged water . Also there was a constant vibrating sound didn't let us sleep

All went well, excepting no restaurant for evening meal. After a long drive it would have been nice to sit down to an evening meal then retire. We enjoy the quiet surroundings

Lack of evening meal, restaurant closed. Granted that the staff member suggested we visited the Best Western across the road. But with a disabled wife in a wheelchair, it's a bit of a push, with no footpath when you reach the opposite side. Please be aware, the restaurant was good, so was the view of the lake and the staff very proficient.

Basic and clean, not bad for a night.

It had an easy car park for motorcycles and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. It was very clean and it was a pretty quiet area away from busy roads. The staff were all friendly.

The bed was uncomfortable, very hard with lumpy springs. The person in the next room smoked on their doorstep right outside our window which blew cigarette smoke straight into our room. I’m asthmatic which meant we had to keep our window closed, and although allegedly air conditioned it wasn’t cooling the room at all so we were stuffy and warm.

Convenient stop off on the way to the Channel Tunnel.

Room was fine for a one night stop, en route to the Channel Tunnel. Just outside Dunkirk, it was convenient for what we wanted, a visit to the large Auchan at Grande Synthe and then setting off for the Channel Tunnel. We were on the ground floor, which meant that we were able to park the car immediately outside the room, which was a great help. The lady in reception was pleasant and very helpful (not always our experience at budget hotels).

Room was a bit small, but was suitable for the price.

Location

Told reception at check in that I would pay my bill in the morning when I checked out. However when I tried to pay, the receptionist said my bill had already been paid. Seems they had decided to charge my credit card which I did not want or agree to. Furthermore they also charged a friends account to my credit card. Again I never agreed to this. Bookings.com state that credit card is just to confirm booking and nothing would be automatically charged to it. That was not the case.

Rooms are in need of freshening up. The breakfast was over priced and over rated. The bread didn't even seem fresh and the croissants were rubbery. €11.90 for breakfast was far too expensive.
