Dog Friendly Dunkirk

Location was good, a short walk or drive to the beaches. A lot of restaurants in the area, variety of cuisines which was great. We travelled with our two dogs and the was easy, the staff were great and incredibly friendly and helpful.

The biggest compliant i'd have is the deposit policy, i wasn't aware it would be so excessive it was about the same as the cost of our stay. Water pressure in the shower isn't great and the water temperature doesn't get particularly hot. The wifi in our room wasn't great but we were able to stream to the tv.

Unsafe parking, broken shower, and poor staff response — not what you expect from a Mercure hotel.

The hotel looks modern and clean, and the room itself was comfortable. The location near the city center and train station is convenient, and the check-in process was simple. Breakfast is decent.

The stay was disappointing. The hotel falsely advertised on-site parking, but none was available when I arrived. Staff directed me to a public area several blocks away that felt unsafe, with suspicious activity and people lingering around parked cars. This was unacceptable, especially since I was traveling with a car full of personal belongings. On top of that, the shower head holder in my room was broken, making it difficult to shower properly. Staff were dismissive about both issues and offered no real help.

Insane views and beautiful toiletries!

From the moment that you walk through the doors, the hotel was visually stunning and exceptionally clean. The decor was beautiful and the lovely lady at reception was very attentive. She was so nice to our daughter and gave her a little nightlight that projected stars onto the ceiling (such a lovely touch!). The room was absolutely amazing with insane views and beautiful Nuxe toiletries! The bath was huge and the beds were very comfortable too. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great quality hotel, good value and location.

Room clean and great staff. Bed was OK comfort wise, great shower and tv with tea and coffee facilities. Hotel was just around the corner from the bus and train station (buses are free by the way!) . Breakfast was really good with a wide variety of continental breakfast items and hot items.. eggs bacon and sausages. There were also a crepe warmer and all the usual cereals and juices. The breakfast area tended to always be busy which with only one coffee machine caused a bit of queuing. Very tight underground but free car park which you need to book in advance. All in all a lovely hotel and great value.

Comfortable, Clean and Convenient but critical failing of management to have television service working on the key dates

This ONE thing spoiled the entire 3 night stay : There was no television service and very weak internet- if any — available the whole time to watch, review and replay portions of the Tour de France Bike Race which I was in town for and which was a finishing point of the race. The staff acknowledged the system was down and would be down but seemed in no hurry to resolve the issue or offer a discount. Otherwise the property is excellent. Though the sink was very slow to drain and there was a broken soap dispenser when I arrived.

Good location if you want to visit the ice rink.

Breakfast was fine, number of selections are adequate. The rooms were clean and nicely laid out. The staff were very helpful. There was minimal noise in the hotel. The airco in the room was excellent.

The breakfast area is quite small and some desks/chairs were meant to have a drink, not eat with plates. Also, the scrambled eggs need to be improved. The taste and the texture was all wrong. I expected better from Mercure. The soap in our room was empty. Luckily the one in the shower wasn't too far away, so we used that one. Please have the staff check if the soap dispensers are full after each visitor. Finally, Mercure should have some deals with the parking area. It is not nice to pay 21EUR for one day just to stay at the hotel.

Large shower and rain shower head with great hot water. Friendly helpful reception staff. Early check-in. Large room. Large TV. Very secure bike storage in locked room inside locked garage - best we've ever had in a hotel. Good location near train station and belfry.

No air conditioning until 1 June but window can be opened and not too noisy. Small towels. No fridge.

Wonderful hotel, so comfortable and new

Hotel is new so is very clean. Room was very comfortable, bed was so nice. Bathroom was excellent. Close to shops and restaurants. Staff were very good and attentive.

There isn't a bar fridge in room, that would have been handy.

Location: Great, easy to reach by car, parking underneath Hotel. Close to the city Centre. Check-inn: bunch of giggling ladies behind the bar. Not a big deal, but not very professional…. In the end 1 helped us perfectly. Room: nice, spacious, great view on harbour/City! Breakfast: Mercure standard, but OK and enough Check-out: nice, fast and friendly !
