Outstanding!

Bergues is a delightful historic French town. We loved our Fromagerie and Patisserie visits and purchases. Bienvenue Chez Nous is a gorgeous Auberge and was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room, St. Winoc, was outstanding. Fabulous restaurant for dinner and breakfast the next morning was also excellent. Valérie and her staff were attentive and lovely. There is safe street parking directly outside. We are definitely planning to return. Highly recommend.

Lovely building very authenticity decorated.

We were given three rooms for our family as the apartment we booked did not gave any heating. Valerie was a perfect host. Fabulous rooms. Set menu in restaurant was good price.

Genuine care and kindness from the hosts in a great family-run hotel

Family run hotel in a large building formerly owned by the local town doctor. Nice original features maintained (wooden flooring, window frames and handles). The hotel is run with kindness and a smile. Strongly recommended

Couldn't have been better. All fantastic

From start to finish, this far exceeded expectations. Valerie is fantastic. Great communication and did everything to make our stay absolutely superb. Beds Fabulous. Home made croissants, beautiful bread, jams, cheeses, fruit juice and coffee. Fabulous Christmas decorations too!

Quirky old hotel, full of character.

Smallish hotel with five rooms, and three next door. Our room was palatial in size, bed was comfortable, bathroom was fine. No AC (although a high tech fan was available) but huge opening windows and the town is very quiet at night. The restaurant in the hotel looked very attractive and we wished we had elected to book a table, as it was we had already made other arrangements ( which turned out to be a disappointment). Breakfast was the normal array of cold meats, cheese, a range of breads, croissants, jams, cereals etc… all perfectly fine. Safe on street parking close to hotel. Walkable to the town centre in five minutes.

A little gem!

A wonderful stay in a beautiful room. A large comfortable bed, high ceilings and all decorated in shabby chic. There were little extras available; sweet treats, beverages and even a little snifter of Port. We were sad we arrived too late to enjoy an afternoon meal there as the restaurant looked amazing, but Bergues is a friendly place with plenty of choice. A market and live music brought the square alive which was thoroughly enjoyable. We would love to come back to spend a lot longer here!

Nice stay but take ear plugs

Lovely well equipped apartment, amazing to be actually in the main tower on the square. Delicious breakfast at the restaurant in the morning. Good value for money for a night before our ferry departure.

Very noisy with bells ringing and can hear all the busy noises outside at night. Fog light to light up tower comes straight into the apartment at night.

Nice traditional central hotel with good restaurant.

Very central traditional hotel with a restaurant downstairs. We stayed here twice on our way to and from the channel tunnel. Both rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant one of the nights and it was good. Breakfast is simple but adequate. We easily parked our car on the street close by on both occasions. Bergues is a non touristic pretty village with a pleasant central square and a couple of nice bars and restaurants. Would recommend.

Exceptional Hospitality and Dining in Charming Bergues

Our stay at Bienvenue Chez Nous was truly memorable. Valerie was a warm and welcoming host, and her husband—also the chef—served an outstanding three-course dinner for just €30. Each course was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, making it one of the best meals of our trip. The guest room was cosy and comfortable, and we especially appreciated the upstairs lounge area available for guests—a lovely spot to relax. Secure bicycle storage in the rear garden was a big plus for us as cyclists. The property is full of charm and perfectly located for exploring Bergues and the surrounding region. 10/10 – Warm hospitality, excellent food, and thoughtful amenities made this a standout stay.

The room was fabulous with a large en suite bathroom, and a communal lounge with tea coffee and treats The restaurant was nice inside and outside The food was really good Nice area

The over head shower didn't work properly and poured onto you rather than shower you so was disappointed in that Paking is on the street and could be a little difficult

Decent stay but confused by location of apartment

Both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were very good. Parking was easy in the main city lot. It was an ideal stop-over before accessing the Eurotunnel early the next morning.

To our surprise, our room was not at the hotel but in a separate apartment a few minutes' walking away. The apartment was run down and stank of cigarettes — the type of smell engrained in the walls from a previous owner smoking a pack a day inside for years on end. The apartment was also in the building as a kids' music school, so we could hear all the noise and instruments practicing. It was a surprise to us when we expected to be checking into a B&B, and instead had to find keys in a lockbox and enter a rather strangely-deocrated apartment. Nevertheless, aside from the smell, it was a decent night's stay!

Slightly dissapointed

The actual property is totally different property in different place to the one advertised which is a shame. The photo below shows the actual building where the flat is situated. The actual apartament is located above music school. It is on the second floor and no lift. The quality of the flat overall was a bit poor in terms of clean and state.

Beautiful and finished to a high specification, you must stay here

It was beautifully furnished, 100% clean and comfortable. It was very kind of the lady to let us have breakfast the next day at a time we chose.

It would have been good to mention that the apartment address was a short walk from the address on the booking. This was a bit intimidating to start with! But I apologise, the owner had tried to email and whatsapp me but i hadnt received either because of being on a foreign phone network.

Wonderful location in the historic part 9of the town. Loved the fact that is was so easy to find free parking. Also loved taking my dog for a walk along the old city walls.
