Beautifully presented Lakeland house very convenient for Ambleside. Great views over the fells from our bedroom which also had a veranda. Large bathroom with great selection of toiletries. Lovely dining room and guest lounge. Delicious breakfast, beautifully cooked with great selection of fresh ingredients. Very friendly and helpful owner.

Fantastic and easy walk into Ambleside.

The overall stay was amazing. Breakfast choice was excellent, and presented really well. The cottage had a lovely feel and atmosphere, and a really lovely lounge to use if you wanted to. The room was light and airy, and all tea coffee etc was available in the room, along with fresh milk. Also provided were shampoo and body wash.

Great stay!

From the delicious made to order breakfasts to tips on where to go, I loved my stay at Haven Cottage. Never used my car once I got there. There is a bus stop right across the street if that's needed. But I walked into town and to hikes. If heading to the lake and you'd rather avoid main street, I recommend using the public walkway at the end of Stoney Lane. Take it over the bridge and make a left and you'll wind up on a pretty walk that can take you to the old Roman Fort ruins and then Borrans Park and then the pier (if you want to take a ferry anywhere). About a 20.minute walk (use Google maps or Waze so you don't lose your way). :) Lots of easily accessible hikes up the surrounding fells as well. I wish I could have stayed longer!

There was some road noise during the day (not bad....just there), but at night it was quiet and I slept well (and I'm a light sleeper).

A real haven in a beautiful Cumbrian town.

We liked everything about this guesthouse! From the friendly welcome from Amanda to the wonderful breakfasts each morning, this was a very relaxing break, despite the rainy weather. Useful sightseeing recommendations too, which helped with our planning while we were there. Would highly recommend!

Haven cottage is in an excellent location on the edge of Ambleside. Amanda was very welcoming and the room was very clean and comfortable. Amanda and Mark cook a delish breakfast with lots of options, highlighting the excellent local produce. Ambleside centre is a few minutes walk away with a good choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs. It is an excellent base for exploring the southern lakes.

Beautiful room with beautiful fixtures with lovely views and quiet. Beginning of Ambleside that we could walk to the restaurants cafes and the pier for the boat tours. The best breakfast we have had in our travels around Uk cooked by our lovely friendly host. Nothing was too much for her and her husband we were most grateful for our stay Highly recommend if you are visiting Lake Windermere

A most comfortable and welcoming stay, highly recommended

Amanda was attentive and welcoming, truly hospitable. The breakfasts were superb - fresh, healthy and delicious. We appreciated Amanda’s knowledge and enthusiasm of the area to direct us in scenic walks and picturesque, quiet picnic spots around the lakes. Overall a wonderful experience.

Note that the stairs to the top level can feel steep but we are in our 70’s and had no difficulty. Large cases would be tricky.

Great location within walking distance of the local town. Good off street parking with the ability to charge electric vehicles. We had the most pleasurable stay, lovely hosts, very comfortable room, exceptionally tasty and well presented breakfast and an all round homely feel to our stay.
