Location, rural nature, views, privacy. Fantastic choice of hot drinks etc. comfortable bed.
A bit confusing for layout of rooms , locations within the property. Some rooms dark and gloomy. My room didn’t have a secure able window and so I did feel a bit unsafe. Most rooms had window security to stop wider opening.

I’ve stayed here previously and had no problems at all, lovely and quiet and clean, tidy rooms in the hall
I stayed in a Helvellyn 2 this time that looked out onto a small courtyard in the back instead of the normal lake facing rooms I’ve had previously. There was a very loud fire door of some sort that kept banging shut and woke me at 2am, then again at 4am, but this went onto open and close every 5/10 mins till about 5.45am when it eventually stopped. No one wants to start their day at 4am on a Sunday!
