Great place to stay for a few days in the Cambodia region.

It was a great place with awesome nature views and very quiet. Only 20 minutes walk to the town centre. The room is very spacious and so was the bathroom. Everything was clean and dog friendly.

The two only things were that the pillows were not great (but it may be me as it happens in most places I stay) and that there was nobody at reception in the morning when there was supposed to be someone (not important as I did send a message regarding the check out).

Spacious, scenic and very comfortable.

Breakfast was not included but there was a fridge in the room and a kettle etc. the bed was really comfortable and the shower worked really well. The sitting area made it more than a b& b, like a little suite really.

Perfect place for a weekend getaway - beautiful and tranquil, perfect for groups or solo travellers.

The property is truly beautiful. The view of the lake from the room was incredible and definitely worth the extra money. The facilities were lovely, and the staff were very kind and helpful, even letting me stay and use the wifi and lounge to do work for a few hours after checkout.

It's a bit far from the nearest town of Ambleside (about 25-30 minute by foot) but it's not a difficult walk, just be sure to buy anything you might need during the night while you're in town.

A gem hidden just outside Ambleside,privledged to have such views and amazing grounds.

Great location for walking

Great location, dog friendly, comfortable bed, room was clean and tidy. Easy access to outside which was handy for our senior dog.

Would be nice to have a cafettiere included in the room for those who like there morning brew.

Scafell lodge is beautiful

We stayed in the scafell lodge and the room was spacious, comfortable and the views were stunning. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if visiting this part of the lakes. Perfect for couples, hikers, anyone wanting to visit ambleside and the surrounding areas, and very dog friendly too! Felt like staying in a spa room but with better views and half the price

Great location for Ambleside. Provided what we needed.

Minor detail- had to google instructions on radiators. Cottage was not that warm on arrival and took a while to work out how to heat it. Would be good to have instructions readily available- maybe along with the pre arrival email. But only a minor suggestion on an otherwise great property.

Idyllic place in the peace and quiet

I absolutely love staying in the lodges. It’s so peaceful and feels like a world away from any stress of normal life. I’m a Registered Nurse and my job is stressful. We both however have stressful jobs and time out is always helpful to refresh ourselves.

Stayed in Jiffy 2 - over a mile from the Hall down a hazardous very narrow road located with two other terraced properties. Outside gardens front and rear - very unkept and ugly. Where are the beautiful english gardens? View from upstairs bedroom overlooked backyards full of disgusting ugly mess. Inside the place stank of mould and musk. Pokey and very uncomfortable. Pics on website are not current and do not show poor quality of building. Flaking paint, damaged kitchen cabinets, upstairs broken window frame meant cannot keep cold out. Bare minium furniture. No soundproofing from outside or inside noise. No extra blankets. The bath tub - OMG!! Needs a good scrub! Bedroom ceiling light blown. Power cables above rear kitchen door - unacceptable. Toilet lid doesn't stay up for men. Stairs are so steep and narrow = could not take suitcases upstairs. Elderly mum could not safely navigate stairs so had to sleep downstairs on lounge with my duvet as no other bedding and I had one base sheet on my bed so had to turn up heat to keep warm. No toilet on 2nd floor so had to navigate stairs twice each night - dangerous when half asleep. Perhaps bring back the chamber pots. Please fully disclose the stairs with photos for future guests. Overall we are very unhappy and this is among two of the worst places we've ever stayed in.

Great location and views, rooms need a hoover!

Beautiful location, fairly quick EV chargers, great views from our lodge, staff very helpful and friendly

The beds were very sloppy and unsupportive. The room in our lodge (scafell 4) was dirty - it looked like it hadn’t been hoovered or swept in months. Huge clumps of fluff and hair everywhere! And grit and spills not mopped. Windows were very dirty which spoiled the views.

Great to know that our short stay enables young people to experience the beauty of the the Lakes.

Great welcome from reception staff, helpful information given. We were in top floor looking out towards the lake - absolutely beautiful and to watch the sunrise. Fridge in room was useful. Lounge/coffee facilities were appreciated. The walk to the lake was stunning and we were able to explore out on to the headland which was beautiful.

The weather was very warm that week and maybe for curtains to be closed and window slightly open it wouldn't have been such a hot room to walk into. A fan was supplied on request which was essential. Bathroom window had to be wedged open as catch had broken.

Good but could be better

The property is clean and very spacious for a room . And the view was beautiful

The shower will run out of hot water If you have a long shower And will not get the hot water only after a few hours. The wifi was very slow as i tested the speed and showed 2.6mb Finally the TV was very tiny and very old When you sit on bed to watch TV you can’t see it clearly due to the small screen.

Stopover near Ambleside

Good location near Ambleside. Clean comfy room at the end of a long day. Fridge in the room is a major bonus. Exceptional price compared to everything else in the area.

What a wonderful place to stay, the room was perfect for me and my little dog. It had a fridge, kettle and coffee and tea. Lisa on reception was so kind and helped me with any questions I had. The grounds are just perfect and I was also allowed in the quiet room to enjoy tea and coffee at no extra charge

Fairly comfortable stay on stunning grounds - room could do with a deep clean and some work.

The grounds are stunning and very peaceful. I was in a small, single bed lodge room, and the bed was very comfortable. It had its own bathroom, with shower, sink, and toilet. There was adequate heating. A TV, small fridge, small kettle and tea, coffee, etc, and hairdryer were available in the room. It is around 1.2-1.5 miles walk to Ambleside (depending on where you are going), although a lovely walk, it is beside a, sometimes a very busy main road, and a torch is required at night. There are bus stops a short walk away. Overall, I had a comfortable stay for a few nights at a reasonable price.

I didn't really know where reception was when I arrived. There were signs, but when at the main building, I couldn't see where to go. Round the back of the building when trying to find reception, a lovely man explained where my room was, but I then didn't know where the other facilities were. The room I was in could do with some TLC. The bathroom had a lot of pink and black mould. The shower was ok but needs a washer put in where the head and hose joins, as a lot of water gushes from there. A lot of cobwebs, outside and in both room and bathroom. The carpet was not hoovered properly. All bedding, including any blankets and throw pillows, should all be washable between guests, but we're clearly not (main sheets and pillows were clean). The TV (remote did not work) - the batteries were corroded.

Exceptional views, country house setting.

Beautiful, quiet setting, lake view, private beach access, lounge with hot drinks machine, outside tables. Twin bed room. Friendly and informative staff. Like staying in a big country house. Photo of our view.

Shower was luke warm, which didn't matter as it was a very hot weekend. No breakfast dining offered, but we managed with the kettle, mini fridge and excellent places nearby.

Lovely little place - great for exploring

It was in an idyllic setting but not far from Ambleside

The stairs have a door but it's around three steps up. Unfortunately my elderly Dad fell down them in the night so be careful.

Great venue for group bookings, property could do with a bit of TLC

Great location, could be tricky to find in the dark. There is a good size communal room and good shower facilities, the kitchen area is adjacent to the property which is a good size working kitchen and seating area , we hadn't realise when we booked it was separate but it did not pose a problem. There is an issue in you have to clean everywhere before you leave and clearly the guests prior to us had not done this effectively.

We had a few problems on arrival which were quickly rectified by staff who were helpful. However, there is an overall smell of damp throughout the property and several broken window locks plus a boarded up window in the kitchen. The bedding was good and we enjoyed our stay and would re-book.
