Room was clean, quiet, warm and had all the amenities to male the stay comfortable. Hot water was almost instant and with good pressure, shower easy to use. The room was quite spacious for a single. Quick and easy check in and checkout process. Plenty of parking spaces despite being a busy weekend. Short drive to get to Ambleside, but also accessible on foot.
Nothing to complain about really, the separate taps in the bathroom should be left in the past century where they belong, if I were to be nitpicking.
Another thing, which is not a complaint, more of a suggestion, a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner would be a great addition.

I’ve stayed here previously and had no problems at all, lovely and quiet and clean, tidy rooms in the hall
I stayed in a Helvellyn 2 this time that looked out onto a small courtyard in the back instead of the normal lake facing rooms I’ve had previously. There was a very loud fire door of some sort that kept banging shut and woke me at 2am, then again at 4am, but this went onto open and close every 5/10 mins till about 5.45am when it eventually stopped. No one wants to start their day at 4am on a Sunday!
