Room 214 is too small!
The staff, bar and breakfast were great. Location perfect
The room we were given was far too cramped. Bathroom was tiny. Could not use the toilet without running the risk of burning yourself on the radiator directly to your left. Had nowhere to put your left leg because the toilet roll holder was there. And when accessing the shower there is a danger of banging heads on the beam..please understand i am 6'3" We have stayed at the inn on 3 seperate occasions. The 1st 2 were fine but im afraid this last visit has made both me and my partner reconsider staying again. Shame really

Not as relaxing as I’d hoped
The hotel is dog friendly and clean. The two male bar workers were friendly
The first night was good a bit noisy but fine, second night we were sat at a table when the lady came and put a reserved sign on it, basically kicking us off the table. We then were told it’s too late to book a table and long story short couldn’t eat even though we were staying. It was very disappointing. I had my mom with me who has mobility issues, we had to walk to look for another venue that’s dog friendly , which was a challenge. The breakfast was mediocre at best - didn’t even eat it on the second day . Tea and coffee were not topped up in the room on the second day either We’ve stayed before and this was a far cry from previous stays, sadly.

Lovely central stay
Staff were very helpful and friendly, room was a good size, good choice tea and coffee, check in easy and breakfast excellent. Very dog friendly our dog had a lovely time!! Position in Ambleside great.
Shower was average difficult to control and get good temperature. There was a smell in the room. we mentioned it to the staff on check out and felt listened to and confident it will be checked out. Not an issue for us, but no parking.
