Fabulous location, great venue and brilliant staff

Great location, comfy spacious rooms, very good food and amazing staff. We had a dog friendly room and it was perfect.

Nothing - we had an issue with the wifi on the tv and the staff sorted it within minutes.

Central to everywhere really could not ask for a more suitable venue, we had a lake view from our rooms.

Great location, great staff, clean hotel and good value for money,

The location is great - right beside the lake. They also have a great pub and the included breakfast had a very nice spread. We stayed for two nights, and were given a choice between free drinks or housekeeping. We liked this flexibility and chose free drinks as the rooms were not being used much. The staff too were extremely welcoming and warm.

The rooms are across the street to their pub. Not the biggest issue, but doesn’t make the property feel as one unit.

Lovely wholesome stay before Christmas.

Great evening meal in the pub and breakfast in the morning was spot on. Bed was extremely comfy and shower was good pressure.

I loved the little rooms and it sort of felt you was like in your own home.

One of my lights was flickering all the time I walked passed it, sometimes it did go off. I did mention this to the staff.

Very adequate rooms, excellent hotel which serves a good selection of meals at reasonable prices, great breakfast selection too. Staff very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal with beautiful views.

The heating in the room was on all night. Couldn’t turn it off. We had to keep the windows open all night to let the heat out. There was water running from somewhere, we the windows opened up onto the flat roof, not sure of it was a leaking gutter, overflow from the boiler or something but it kept us up all night. Pillows were uncomfortable, lumpy

The only thing about the rooms was on a night when you came back from having a meal it was bad lighting we had to use the torch on our phones to see were we we’re going also the leaves of the trees were all over the pathway up the steps going to our room making it bad to walk very slippery

Needed a few hooks to hang wet coats. Nowhere to put wet walking things - we put boots on plastic bags to keep the floor clean/dry.

Beautiful location and great character

The hotel itself has plenty of charm, great traditional character, a superb location near the pier, and a car park that makes life easy. It’s within walking distance of Ambleside and close to bus links, which is very convenient. The food was nice, and breakfast was very good (though adding a bit of cheese would have been great).

The younger staff at the restaurant seemed somehow uninterested, and asking for the table to be cleared or to place an order sometimes felt like requesting a personal favor rather than a normal part of service.

Breakfast was great, lots of choice, staff were friendly, room was clean and surprisingly nice for a dog friendly room.

The smart tv, I’m not sure if it was due to connection strength issues, but we weren’t able to use any apps on the tv, which you can deal with, if the tv had channels, which unfortunately it had around 10 channels you could actually watch, it defeats the purpose of having a tv in the room. Also the towel radiator did not work

Room was an attic room so small and hot, only a small window to open, no opening window in bathroom. Up 2 flights of stairs to room. Followed sign for reception only to find it is at the end of the bar, no signage Breakfast chaotic, no one taking room numbers, telling you what to do , people everywhere. Not a relaxing breakfast experience. Bathroom tiles uneven with dirty grouting, bit out of bath, paint chipped on door, paint chipped in cupboard door,.dripping toilet cistern 24 hours a day. Wouldn't say it was worth money we paid Breakfast buffet not very warm, if you wanted to order scrambled eggs etc you had to do that at the bar. Booked to stay at the inn then got sent over the road to rooms,

Joe did an outstanding job going beyond looking for a better room to cater to my elderly mother’s needs. He was very please and professional and He will go along way in life with those qualities. The breakfast was outstanding as was the lady who had a smile and chat each morning while serving .
