Lovely stay but need to sort staffing issues to keep charging these prices

We had a hideaway room so that was lovely..very clean, juat what we needed really. Great venue

The only difficulty was not knowing where the room was,would have been beneficial to have been directed to the room when we checked in. This didnt spoil our break though.

Really under staffed! Nails on carpet in the room. Don’t know where to check in, order food, talk to staff for toilet rolls it’s basically super unorganized. Staff were nice but they were overwhelmed with workload.

Quaint and cosy! Perfect location for walking into Ambleside and exploring nearby lakes and villages. Lovely room and wonderful, accommodating staff. We loved our stay!

Gorgeous rooms and scenery.

Stunning location and room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Huge windows overlook the lake and hills from a distance. Gorgeous scenery.

The road up to the car park is very steep and if you stop at the top without turning into a flat road you'll risk burning your clutch out when you try to set off again.

Lovely place to stay.

Cosy, quiet, hotel with super-friendly and helpful staff. Loved the loyalty program. Nice food choices and great breakfast. Superb location for walks and a short distance from Ambleside.

i was given a pet friendly room which i hadn’t asked for, it smelled of dogs and the paint was peeling off the wall in places. i was told breakfast was 7:30 to 11 , got there a little before 10 only to be told breakfast had ended and nothing left

Disappointing

Location was excellent. Lady manager from wolverhampton was amazing.

The service was extremely poor. No room service, no toilet paper in the room, small rooms. Small bathroom. No way to get a toilet paper replacement without walking across the street.

Lovely stay in a really nice location

Lovely property and location. Loved the spacious room with large double bed, good size tv, bath and plenty of hot water. Decent views too which we could see part of the lake. Loved the peace and quiet.

We had a lovely long weekend and would definately stay at the Lakehouse again.

Room was not in the main building. It was in a out building, which gave us direct access to the outside, which was ideal for our dog. The breakfast was in the main inn, Waterhead Inn. It was buffet style, with a good selection, and was lovely. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, it was nice and warm (ideal for november) with plenty of storage and tea / coffee facilities. There were even treats for our dog. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner., but nothing an extra wipe round didn't solve.

Good, clean and comfortable with a very tasty breakfast

Stayed in the annexe at the Lake House. Signage very poor, me and my colleague both struggled to find our rooms and no-one answering the phone to ask. But the rooms were absolutely perfect- large, modern but full of character, clean and comfortable. Only missing a full-length mirror which would have helped, and a light in the alcove where the mirror and desk are. Staff were good, especially the lady at breakfast who was super friendly and helpful.

Nice location and nice hotel, but below standard sleeping accommodation and resolving of issue

The location was good and some of the staff were helpful. The food in the restaurant was also good.

In one bedroom there was a constant dripping noise all night and I noticed damp and a patch of mold on the ceiling the next morning. I asked to move rooms as I hadn't slept and the person on reception said it wasn't possible but would send maintenance to have a look at the ceiling. After standing my ground a different staff member agreed to move me to another room but when I got there it hadn't been cleaned or the bed made. I then had to contact them again and they did finally find me another room which was ready to be used and was comfortable. For the price of the accommodation, I expected the hotel staff to try to help rather than initially refusing and I did not expect to sleep in a room with damp and mold.

Bracingly cold showers, clear glass window and doors directly from the bed onto the car park.

Buffet full English breakfast.

Breakfast isn't served at Lakehouse but in the Waterhead Inn. Down a path with some loose steps leading directly to the main road (no pavement) across this and then walk half way around the Inn to find an opening door. Room poor value for money. Lighting poor, blinds poor. No hot water. Parking isn't by reservation but on a first come-first-served basis.

Food quality spoiled what otherwise would have been a lovely stay

Room on upper floor of the hideaway was lovely with decent view. Breakfast was ok , although decent coffee would make a difference.

Dinner was unfortunately well below expectations.Venison mince with dumplings and mash was unappetising. Venison lacked flavour, dumplings flat and greasy, mash stodgy . Dessert was even worse. Tarte Tatin was a burnt mess with apples incinerated to oblivion.

Really comfy room with private patio area, slept so well! The breakfast was really lovely, lots of choice, great venue - lovely and clean and well decorated. The staff were super nice, every interaction was great, really friendly. Would definitely stay here again - thank you! Xx
