Great time at the Salutation
I liked the location, the staff they made our stay special even conversing in Spanish with my partner. The decor and furnishings including little details making us feel at home . We loved the breakfasts and the evening meals Of course we liked the spa too.....

Great location
Loved the facilities, swimming pool etc were lovely. Breakfast was first class and couldn't fault the quality and selection. Staff were lovely too.
Very small double room, felt cramped. Lounge/sitting room had so many sofas in it that it looked like a sofa showroom. On site parking ideal if there was space, hardly any turning space and even the overspill car park was full.

Great place in a beautiful area.
This is our 5th time staying at the Salutation, perfectly placed in a the beautiful town of Ambleside. The hotel facilities suited our needs well. We had a loft suit which was very well designed and laid out. Each time we used the Spa, it was never too busy. The restaurant service and food are of a high standard.
On check in, our room was very cold, it seemed to take an age to warm up (especially as we'd just come in off the fells). This, we felt took away the wow factor of the room. Not much that could be done once we were there.
