Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa

Such an ideal location for exploring Ambleside. The spa was lovely and I loved that we were offered to start using the spa before check in time. The breakfast was delicious

Wanted to have a couple evening drinks in the hotel bar at about 10pm, but felt as though it was slightly inconvenient. The card machines had been closed down so it was only cash or charge to room. The receptionists were hopping between the desk and the bar to serve. We just had one drink so as not to be a pest. But this didn’t spoilt our stay

Nothing , room was a little hot but fans provided.

Location is amazing, breakfast is fantastic and the staff are great

So we had hot tub room called troutbeck, bathroom was new and very nice but the hot tub area was at the back overlooking a road and you could see through the fence. Also rooms above could see down on you.

I would probably be better booking through the hotel directly as when you book through Booking.com what you think you are buying is not always the same as what you get ! I booked a king size bed with balcony thinking that it would be a good size room but in reality I got on of there cosy double rooms which was quite small…but this is not the hotels fault. Also the clientele are a little older & some a bit pompous. The spa is a lovely space but not enough lounges for the amount of people . The food in the restaurant was ok but expensive and small portions.
