Expensive for the experience!

Location

Room looked bigger on photos than in reality. Bathroom was dirty. Look behind bathroom door! Pillows were hard. The hanging facilities ridiculous - there is space for a hanging cupboard so why provide hangers so clothes are hung like paintings. Breakfast, albeit separately charged was cold poached eggs served on avocado straight from a fridge

Lovely room in a great location, really friendly and helpful staff on check-in. Amenities in room were a lovely touch too.

The only slight downside (although totally manageable) were the stairs to the top room - not helped by being nearly 9 months pregnant!

Everything you need and a great location

The facilities in the room, the central but quiet location and the v pleasant and helpful hostess. Car parking provided was a bonus

Friendly welcome. Cosy and very clean room. Gingerbread from the bakery provided which was a lovely touch. Central location. Parking provided, out the way however safe and easy to get to. The room was well worth the price paid and would definitely stay again when we re-visit.

Lovely room, great location

Lovely room near shops and restaurants and to beautiful stream. Room was serviced as requested and there was always tea, coffee and milk available. Fab TV in the room and bed very comfy. Parking was not always possible putside the rooms but there were extra spaces a short walk away. Good value for money

It's not a criticism but it's worth noting that there are a lot of stairs to the set of rooms we were in - a bit tricky if you are carrying anything heavy or bulky.

Location and room set up, and overflow car park was very near

It was next to very busy road. Summer so room was stifling, fan did not work, had to keep window open, two pubs next door so it was a struggle to sleep. Woke up grumpy and shattered.

Lovely, comfortable room with spectacular views

Lovely choice of breakfast, maybe cost slightly more than expected but quality outwayed the difference. We have no complaints. Usually would have stayed next rmdoor in rooms but treated ourselves to Loft with lovely views.

Toilet didn't flush everything away. Very very warm at night. More so than ambient temperature would dictate. Provided with a very noisy fan that only partially worked

Great stopover, very clean and comfortable.

Booked last minute as an overnight stop over as we were doing a half marathon nearby. Location was great, room was comfortable and spotlessly clean.

A little more expensive compared to some of our stays but a prime location so expected.

An enjoyable weekend.

The location was excellent the room was lovely with a beautiful view and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The choice of cooked breakfast. You could not substitute anything just leave out what you didn’t want which wasn’t good value for money. However the toasted bath bun I had on the third morning was lovely as were the cup cakes my daughter ordered for my birthday.

Great location in the heart of the Lakes

Great location in the heart of Ambleside. Great view from our room across the valley. Quirky to have the cafe below us.

Bit noisy at 5am as the baker starts his day. We stayed 6 nights and would have welcomed a thorough clean of our room a couple of times during our stay. Room only basis a bit basic for us for 6 nights. Not something we would do again.

Lovely place, would stay again!

The Apple Loft was a lovely place to stay in Ambleside. The location was central, the staff were friendly and the room was clean and was well equipped. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the ground coffee and cafetière, milk in the fridge and delicious gingerbread.

Did not have breakfast on site. Bed Comfy. Shower was good. The towels.

The stairs!! Flat was compact and noise level from main road was a bit much at times. The smell of cooked food early am when exiting the property was overwhelming.

Lovely room in a good location.

Location is great. Right in the middle of Ambleside and easy walking for most of the town. Room was lovely, nice décor, good view. Reasonable sized bathroom. Just shower, no bath. plenty of storage space. Tea, coffee etc with fresh milk provided, and the best gingerbread in the Lakes. Breakfast not included but a 10% discount at their cafe attached to the property.

Room was pretty warm and just opening the windows on the latch didn't do much to help. There was a fan provided but still a bit uncomfortable for sleeping.

A little more attention to detail on the cleaning. Mugs had not been replaced from previous occupants and were dirty whilst the towels were musty. Apart from that it was excellent.

Over rated, costly with no privacy.

location was good. Their breakfast and bakery is good.

The photos and the room did not match at all. very small room with basic facility. Not worth the money paid. Ventilation was poor and no privacy at all. You open the window and on one side and bakery people are working continuously. Close the window and there is NO ventilation at all. Will NOT recommend this hotel for couple or families. Many better locations are available in Ambleside. Don't go on the photos given on the website.

A lovely stay in Ambleside despite the rainy weather.

Location was great. The room was light and airy, bed super comfortable. The view from our room was lovely. Brekky downstairs was delicious.

The main thing we missed was a toaster in the room.
