Good Location

From entering the lady at reception was lovely and gave a warm welcome. We had room 5 which has a nice view, was spotless clean and has a good sized comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room with milk in a fridge downstairs. There was also a selection of snacks and drinks with an honesty jar downstairs. I also noticed there is a dry room for wet, muddy shoes, coats ect. The location is excellent and there is parking outside and more spaces a short walk away. We also found out the building was once the solicitors office of Beatrix Potters husband. Beatrix met her husband there and was a frequent visitor. We had a lovely stay and will definitely stay here again.

We have stayed there before, and it was just as good - its a great location, parking is free, food is great in their restaurant next door, staff are friendly and its so easy.

Mum's 90th

Myself, brothers and sisters came to celebrate what should of been our precious mums 90th birthday, we chose apple pie as it seemed apt as apple pie was her favourite dessert as was Ambleside, we were not disappointed, we had the best time ever, the location was perfect, the rooms were absolutely lovely and spotlessly clean, the facilities were great, the lady that welcomed us was absolutely lovely, the little apple pie cafe served us an amazing breakfast. Highly recommended, We could not of asked for better, so a massive thank you to apple pie, you did us proud

Only thing didn't like was a low beam in the room which we both cracked our heads on more than once. (Room 8). Would have been lovely if the cafe had been open early enough for us to use it for breakfast.

Brilliant location and parking included which was perfect. Friendly staff and really clean room, everything we needed for a two night stay. The breakfast next door at the apple pie was also excellent!

Attic room had reduced head height, slightly more than we expected, however we were made aware of this upon booking confirmation and were given the option to cancel if this wouldn’t be suitable. I’d say it was fine for a two night stay as we didn’t spend much time in the room, but for any longer it may be a little uncomfortable

Perfect location but last time we came we stayed in one of the rooms above the cafe with big window.

We were put in the attic room and I am 6’2” tall and so had quite a few issues with head contact but otherwise we love the place and location.

Pretty building in great central location. Efficient check in and out system. Room was well equipped.

We stayed in 2 different rooms (as ended up extending our stay by one night). The first room was in the attic which had sloping ceilings and low beams and was very small. Difficult not to bang your head multiple times. The second room was on the ground floor and a bit larger but had a tiny ensuite. All manageable but compared to stays elsewhere on our road trip seemed expensive. Perhaps though this is normal for this area.
