Location. Cafetière in room and plenty of tea bags. Drying room.
A bit pricey, but maybe that is Ambleside in general. Duvet was a bit too warm (we were in loft and window automatically closed if it is raining.

We had two nights in the Apple Pie Rooms - a twin room at the very top of the building. Check-in was easy, and we found the room very comfortable. The skylight allowed us ventilation, but we were also very grateful for the fan provided which kept us cooler at night. Fresh milk is available at all times, and an honesty box for snacks. A spacious bathroom also included a bath. We sampled the gingerbread, apple pies and sausage rolls from the Apple Pie Bakery - delicious! Good location for exploring the Windermere area.
Travellers in the top floor rooms need to be aware of some beams and low doorways. Though we knew in advance, there were a couple of little bumps while we got used to it! Towel rail in the bathroom is VERY hot - effective, but don't tough as it burns.
