Location was central
Dysfunctional key system on both outside access and room access.
Very loud music from bar beneath
Heating was poor

It was clean and tidy. Good location to town. It's priced fairly and honestly if it was warmer and the facilities worked it would be fine...
Absolutely freezing - even with the heating on takes ages to warm up and I still had to sleep with my jumper on. Duvet and heating just not warm enough for -1C.
The shower would not warm up - two temperatures cold and freezing.
Parking is hard to find and a distance away. Would rather they said advertised with no parking which would be understandable for the location.

Location very central.
Not ideal to stay, particularly on a weekend if you have young children, we were in a room that faced the front street, its right next door to a wine bar and a few other bars which had music going on until 1am, we didnt get very much sleep.
Also the parking is situated quiet a long way from the actual hotel at a local football club which isnt lit very well at night, again not ideal with young children.

Very central and close to shops in centre. The room was unstaffed but access was easy.
It’s a long way to parking if you have cases or large bags. Walls are very thin so hear people in other rooms and bathroom fans going.

The noise and light pollution from a security light which shone directly into the room. Noise from an air conditioning unit placed right next to the window of the room. No double glazing.

Great location and comfortable bed. Lots of stairs but for us not a problem.
The toilet made very weird whistling noises and was loud during the night. Car parking further away than indicated.

Very central for our needs. Comfortable room with everything provided good quality fixtures and fittings.
Sadly did not realise the possibility of being on a high floor with no lift . Free parking a bonus albeit parking some distance away

If I had known there were 61 stairs to climb to my room, plus the site is unmanned and I hadn't been given door entry codes. When I received the codes, the front door wouldn't open! The electric towel rail didn't work. I couldn't find the switch for it!
Generous size rooms. The bathroom was across the landing.
Being older and currently experiencing sore knees and feet things were not ideal.
Site being unmanned and codes not working. Man from next door sorted things out but I felt I was being a nuisance to him.

The location was really good in the centre.
Parking, there was no spaces so had to park in the main car park.
My room was next to the extractor fan for the take away below, so there was constant noise all night, and constant smell of take away.
The venue in general had some really bad smells, and constant noise all night. There was only a tiny fan to keep you cool or have the window open.

Good location, and initial comms were good, but the rest is poor. Avoid a stay here. Literally stay anywhere else in Ambleside!
It wasn't clean.
Shower was a dribble and not constant temperature.
Window led to back of Lily Bar and was noisy to after midnight.
No air con.
Poor natural light.
Room very small compared to others in ambleside.
Massively over priced for a very basic stay.
No breakfast.
Electronic locks were temperamental.
Blind was broken.
State of room in general was neglected and poor.
Walls paper thin, I actually heard my neighbours bowel movements on the toilet as it was next to my bed!

Location was great. Definitely good value for money. Easy check in process. Room was very spacious.
Parking was a little far from the property. Fan that was provided made an awful noice which made it unusable at times. We stayed when it was up to 30 degrees which was not ideal.

Brilliant location, lovely clean room, good value for money and super staff on hand to help you with anything - definitely recommend!

Very good location, we stayed one night and had a good sleep. Big plus for a free car park (it's not so close to the building though, you need to have a walk to the parking). Big bathroom for our room. Good value for money in Lake District.
Carpets everywhere which amazes me in England - there were even carpets on the stairs and at the entrance to the building. It's impossible to keep them properly clean.

Great location, comfy bed, easy check in and check out. Clean room. Parking included.
Not that it was a bad thing but there was no information about what time check out was. From what I saw anyway.

Very central location. We had a busy day kayaking on Grasmere and enjoyed our own private little party in our room as a family. Next day was perfect for wondering around Ambleside, a fairytale town.

Great location for all amenities in Ambleside and a great base for local walks and transport. We have stayed here before, and the property is clean and spacious with great housekeeping and a good supply of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.
Nothing.

Convenient in centre of town. Ambleside is beautiful.
3 adults in 1 room a little squishy. Having to walk a mile to car parking . 🥲 having to lock separate bathroom every visit.

Location spot on. Bit of noise from Lilys Bar but we were fine with it. Maybe not ideal for families at weekends?
Nothing.

I had stay at this hotel, perfectly situated in the heart of the town center. Its prime location makes it incredibly convenient, with the supermarket, restaurants, and other local attractions all within walking distance. The small-town setting adds a unique charm and makes exploring the area a truly enjoyable experience.
The room features a modern electronic lock system, and the owner promptly provided the passcode via message and email, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free check-in process.
For two people, the room size was cozy and perfectly adequate. Though slightly compact, this is typical for accommodations in old town areas and contributes to the authentic experience of staying in such a quaint and historic location.
The hotel offers free parking, which is a great perk. But the parking is located a bit farther away.

Town centre location. Good communication with the owner. Everyone in all the pubs and shops was really friendly. Big clean bathroom.
If you want quiet. Look elsewhere. As other reviews have stated. It gets a bit noisy late at night as you are above a pub with live music. It was hot when we stayed and the top floor room we were in, only has one small window and a small fan. But we weren't expecting the Ritz for the price we paid.

the room was adequate, surface clean and no mould or faults with the room, suitable for the two nights that we stayed, maid came and asked if we needed extra tea and coffee and assisted us the first day when we could not use the key code correctly, the hack i found was to press one number button once and then the actual numbers work after that. It is very central and you can walk around town easily and quickly due to its location.
they say that first impressions count, as you enter the main entrance the ground floor smells very strongly of dog odour, the entrance needs to have a good clean to get rid of the smell as it emanates all up the stairs. the door locks are difficult to manage and one a few occasions it took us more than 5 attempts to get it right, i mastered it on the final day. i had to help and show others how to gain entry after clarifying they had a booking. The shower was very intermittent, hot or cold but no middle ground, perhaps some explanations for people on how to achieve the optimum would help. During the summer despite having a fan in the room it was excruciatingly hot ( we were there on the hottest day in june) due to the nature of the town and it being on the roadside there are cars, motorbikes and loud people therefore you cant have the window open when sleeping. also you are two doors away from Lilys bar where they have live music and people partying until 0100 on weekends, with the window shut we couldnt hear it

Not too sure what you could do about the unpleasant odour coming from the toilet.a longer cord for the kettle to be able to use it on the desk on the tray.

Easy to find, car park was a nightmare and full so ended up parking in the main car park and having to move it elsewhere before getting the 6am bus to my run
The smell, the room smelt of cats urine, in room 3

Location to amenities
Other guests continue to make noise and no consideration for other guests. This went on all evening from 5pm until 12:45am. I sent messages via booking.com in an attend to contact the owners as this is a self check in hotel. Eventually at 12:40am I managed to get the attention of the staff in Lily's and they confirmed they own the accommodation. Credit to the owners, they immediately attended the room with the noisey guests that were disturbing the peace and the owner made it quite clear that it's very late and their behavior won't be tolerated any longer.
The noise stopped, but it would be 2 or 3 hours before we Eventually managed to sleep.
Very tired today now 😴 🤷♂️
