Ambleside Townhouse

It was very comfortable stay with very helping staff.

A pleasant hotel but not really "luxury" as they claim. No air conditioning, just a small, noisy desk fan. Probably not an issue most of the year, to be fair, as it was unseasonably hot this week. Double bed with a poor mattress that transferred all movement of one partner to the other. Tap in the wash basin too close to the basin; I've seen this repeatedly in hotel rooms and, to be fair, some home, and I'll never understand how the proprietors and their plumber can't figure out what size of tap for the chosen basin. Most importantly, I received an email about needing to book a dog-friendly room if required. I left two voice messages and sent an email in the week prior to my stay. No response whatsoever was received. We were able to adapt and it didn't end our stay, but for this reason more than any other, we won't be staying again.

Bed was very comfortable.Very noisy children above our room were jumping off the beds and running around.The bathroom had black mould round the bath could of been cleaned quite easy

This was a slightly more expensive guesthouse than we normally book which is definitely reflected in the room, which was beautiful. Cleanliness was top notch, noted especially by how fresh it smelled which was lovely. The bed was comfortable but I must say the pillows were too hard for us. Breakfast was a little bit of a let down as it was quite small but there was a lot of choice in the buffet extras. We did have the room next to the front door as well which was quite loud at times. Also if I was being really picky it would have been nice to have curtains as well as shutters because we like a dark room on a night and with being next to the car park it was never properly dark. But overall it was a nice enough stay.

Had a delightful week long stay at the Ambleside Townhouse. Room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast was basic but sufficient and from the cooked menu they would provide breakfast how you wanted it, with swaps and omissions if need be. They catered well for my husband who is gluten intolerant. Lots of restaurants and pubs within a short stroll, we tried a different one for dinner each night. Parking can be a little bit tight but we did have quite a large car, saying that we always found a space to squeeze it into! Staff very friendly.

Fabulous location and lovely B&B with parking included. Breakfast was very tasty without being too heavy leaving room for more of the culinary delights Ambleside has to offer. We had fabulous weather when we were there so suffered a little bit from the heat at night but there was a little fan which helped somewhat but missed my own cool duvet from home

Manager Helen was lovely and easy to talk to. Breakfast options for a B&B was tasty and catered for all. Room was spacious (superior room) and very comfortable bed. Good temperature and pressure in the shower too. Great location to walk ten mins to the lake or 5 mins to town. Will be back again.

I particularly enjoyed the easy walking access to the lakeside dock with the old boats. Also liked the comfortable and well-stocked pub!

We can’t say enough nice things about this place. It was amazing in every way. The breakfast was delicious, the service was great, communication was spot on, the rooms were comfortable and cozy, the location was great and the views were amazing.

We had yet another lovely stay at this property. Staff are always pleasant and helpful, lovely breakfasts and the rooms are always immaculate and very comfortable.

Stayed for one night for husbands birthday chose the townhouse from previous reviews. The service was excellent as was and breakfast. My only issue would be the bathroom needed a few cosmetic improvements like the grouting was black in some areas and there was a water stain mark in the carpet. Apart from that the bedding was immaculate and the bed comfy.

Comfortable and clean guest house. Fresh bottles of water in the room every day and plenty of tea and coffee. Fabulous breakfast.

The location and proximity to get into town walking and driving distances to other parts of the lakes. We were rightly situated for our walking break. I felt it was expensive compared to other B&B nearby.
