Perfect, fabulous, relaxing, very enjoyable

Breakfasts has plenty of choice ad cooked well. Janet made fantastic cakes, which were complimentary and very much appreciated, thank you.

Janet was very friendly and welcoming. She provided us both with breakfast and an assortment of delicious home baked treats. The location is perfect, parking was straightforward. The room was comfortable and cosy and the view was great. We'd definitely stay again.

Location, Hosts, Clean and great Breakfast

Right on the street front of Ambleside. Park the car for your stay and walk or bus everywhere you want to go. Our room (6)was beautiful. A little kitchenette to use along with a lounge. Perfect for a relaxing cup of tea after a long walk. The breakfast was amazing. Cafe quality and plentiful. Walk to city centre at the front door. Very central to all shopping and restaurants. The hosts are very knowledgeable and friendly with helping you sort your days in Ambleside. They know all the ‘other’ places to go when the tourists don’t. Make sure you ask for their help in seeing the most you can in the time you have. Free on site parking!

Great location, lovely breakfast with locally sourced products. Generous selection of cakes, biscuits and even complimentary wine to help yourself to. Excellent location to the centre of Ambleside, room very tidy and comfortable and tastefully decorated. We appreciated all the little extras and would definitely come back again. Very friendly host.

What a treat from start to finish!!

Super location with a room that was quality and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was lovely with nothing being too much trouble. Cakes on hand to help yourself to and bottled water in the fridge which with the heat wave was much appreciated.

Lovely friendly guesthouse in good location

The guesthouse owner, Janet, was very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable, the location in central Ambleside was great and we had a very good breakfast. There were some nice touches, like home-made cakes and a lovely garden to sit in. We'd certainly try to stay here again if looking for accommodation in Ambleside.

Just wonderful

Property full of character with a beautiful garden and fabulous views. Janet was absolutely amazing, full of local info.The breakfast was very good and the little extras in the rooms made it feel like you were in a much more expensive establishment. Lovely stay, will definately return.

Great location just a short walk into town and the lake. Our room was very comfortable and clean and contained everything we could possibly need. The owner, Janet is lovely, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb, nothing was too much trouble. Off road parking was a bonus. Excellent Guest House, highly recommend and when we are in the area again will definately stay at The Wordsworth.

Wonderful early Spring break

I am so pleased I booked Wordsworths Guest House for our short break in the Lake District. From the moment we arrived Janet made us feel as welcome as old friends. Our room was amazing - warm and comfortable and with everything we needed including a great view of the garden and nearby fells. There's plenty of parking and in fact we didn't move the car at all during our stay as there are glorious walks into the mountains just from the front door. All the shops and restaurants (in particular the Vegetarian paradises of Zeffirellis and Fellinis) you need are just a short walk away too, as is the pier for the Windermere boat cruises. A plentiful breakfast set us up perfectly for the day, and best of all Janet provides a seemingly inexhaustible supply of delicious cakes - I only hope we weren't too greedy! We struck really lucky with the weather too as a snow fall followed by bright sunshine made the whole area look absolutely stunning. All in all a wonderful and relaxing few days - which was just what we both needed.
