Super clean, cosy room, spacious bathroom. Had great selection of tea and coffee in the room. The host is very friendly. Good breakfast. Great location.

We took a bus to Ambleside from the Windermere train station. It took us straight to Elder Grove as the bus stop was just a very short distance away. The room was lovely. Despite being very busy as we discovered at breakfast the next morning, the place was quiet and we had lots of privacy. There is a sitting room near the entrance, and when we first arrived we visited briefly with two gentlemen who were traveling by motorcycle and had a great conversation with them. There were many books available to read, including excellent books about Ambleside and hikes in the area which we were glad to have available. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was wonderful, and I discovered I love really fresh orange juice and homemade muesli. The owners were charming and I cannot recommend this place enough!
