Central location , clean, nice decor. Tea and coffee and biscuits replenished daily. Easy check in
Separate bathroom which needed a key was a bit annoying. Also pub downstairs and across the road was loud

We had a lovely stay here. We booked the Mountain View room with a private bathroom, and both the bedroom and bathroom were finished to a really high standard. The room was warm, cosy, and very comfortable, with plenty of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, etc provided, plus additional supplies available downstairs if needed.
We ended up spending most of one day in the room due to bad weather, but the space was so comfortable that it didn’t feel like a compromise at all. It’s also very dog-friendly, with thoughtful touches like towels available by the front door.
The included parking pass was a great bonus, especially as many places we looked at didn’t offer this. Although the parking is a short 3–5 minute walk away, it was very straightforward and not an issue for us.
Overall, a fantastic stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
Nothing that impacted our stay at all, but a couple of small points that may be useful for future guests. As the property is an older house with traditional sash windows, there can be a little bit of street noise at times. It didn’t bother us in the slightest and we still had an excellent night’s sleep, but it’s worth being aware if you’re particularly sensitive to noise.
Also, the room we stayed in had a private bathroom located just next door, accessed via the communal hallway. This was clearly set up with bathrobes and slippers provided, so it was still very comfortable and not an issue for us, just something to note when booking. I believe the other rooms are en-suite if that’s a preference.

Lovely place, the room (Fairfield) was a large double with two windows, one overlooking the bustling street with lovely shops, and one with a great mountain view and an armchair to look at it from.
Nice furniture, comfy bed and plenty of pillows and cushions.
Great storage and plenty of room.
Super clean with a nicely stocked tea tray.
It is self check in but there is a telephone number and George was on hand to answer my many, many questions.
He could not have been more helpful, from helping me find the (very conveniently) located carpark to suggestions for resturants and local ammenities.
Loved everything !
My only gripe (and it is a small one) is that access might be a little tricky for the less ablebodied, as the property is in an elevated position, up a steep (ish) drive with a set of stairs to climb once in the building.
That said, there are outside steps from street level to the entrance, and once in the property being avove street level is great for the views and peoplw watching.
