Beautiful old building, room very clean and decorated lovely. Lovely bathroom with bath, good shower and complimentary products. Maid service was amazing, everything restocked and little touches like folding our pyjamas was very sweet and unexpected.
Only slight flaw was one of the bedrooms has a seperate bathroom, meaning you have to lock and unlock both doors quite often, we were worried about disturbing other guests with the noise.

We couldn’t be happier with our stay at 1869. A lovely house full of charm in every corner, with a clean and tastefully decorated room. It had everything we needed: a kettle, coffee, a hairdryer, towels, shower gel and shampoo. The room was quiet and the price was the best value for money in Ambleside. What’s more, the house is in the centre of the village, just a few minutes’ walk from everywhere, including the bus stop. We’ll definitely be returning to the Lake District and this cosy cottage.

Location and the parking permit
Wasn’t the room I thought we had booked, very noisy at night and too warm in the room. Shower was blocked when we arrived so had to get someone to come fix it. No fridge in the room and limited space to put belongings or get ready for the day. Another buildings window looks in on the shower, basic facilities.
