We stayed at the Temperance Inn for two nights over Boxing Day and the following day. The staff were genuinely pleasant and helpful, which made a great first impression. Our room featured a very large, comfortable bed, was nicely warm, and came well stocked with tea and coffee — always appreciated.
The bathroom was on the small side, which is fairly standard, although the shower was very compact and a bit underwhelming. The room itself was clean — perhaps a little too enthusiastic with the bleach, as our nostrils can confirm!
We were on the first floor, and if you’re a light sleeper, it’s worth requesting a higher room. We could clearly hear bar noise and the live singer performing downstairs — great atmosphere if you’re in the bar, less so when you’re trying to relax upstairs.
Breakfast was fine: good flavour but a limited selection. The bar food was similarly serviceable, with a fairly standard menu. One thing to note is that there’s no parking available at the hotel.
Overall, a comfortable stay with friendly staff, just with a few quirks to fix.
Bit noisy, extractor fan in bathroom came on and would not go off.
