An ideal location for a weekend break.

The location in Ambleside was good, easy walk to the local shops, restaurants/cafés/bars, nearby bus services, plus a short walk to Windermere ferry services along with nearby complimentary secure parking. The hosts where welcoming, friendly and informative. The breakfasts offered a wide choice, complementary tea/coffee in the rooms which were clean and comfortable. An ideal location for a weekend break.

We had a lovely stay at the Melrose Guest House. The room was immaculate, the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. Loved our stay. Would recommend without hesitation.

Gem of a guesthouse!

Tracey and Kevin were very welcoming and accommodating. The entire guesthouse was beautiful and comfortable, and perfectly located. We would 100% return!

This is in no way a dislike! The amenities here are great and of really good quality - it would have been nice to have conditioner available as well. There may have been some if you asked - we did not.

Perfect choice, tip top and surpassed our expectations

The location at the heart of Ambleside was perfect, the decor was stylish and tip top, the breakfast was superb and completely customizable in that you could fill out a sheet specifying exactly what you wanted the next day from a range options not just full english (alternatives such as smashed avo and poached egg or scrambled and smoked salmon). Above all Tracey and Kevin were totally friendly and accommodating when we needed a favour or two even after checking out.

The room was beautifully decorated with plenty of hanging and drawer space, very comfortable bed, lovely view and comfortable temperature. Location was perfect. It was a short walk to the bus stop and restaurants close by. The hosts were very welcoming and extremely helpful as well as providing breakfasts to look forward to!
