Location is brilliant - super close to the centre of Ambleside so reasonably priced with this in mind. Decor inside was modern - bathroom very modern etc. View from the balcony was absolutely stunning, we loved being able to sit outside on a morning and evening to unwind. This was especially perfect as we got a brilliant weekend weather wise! Bed extremely comfortable and very spacious. Communication was through WhatsApp with quick replies and friendly helpful advice to assist with checking in/out, hotel information etc.
The room unfortunately had quite a strong smell of damp from the minute you entered, which was probably intensified with the hot weather. We did feel we needed to have a window/balcony doors open at all times to help with this. The carpet was quite stained in certain areas and felt a little bit dirty, I didn't walk round barefoot at all unless I was in the bathroom. A few dints/holes in the walls which did lower the appearance slightly. There was a full length mirror on the outside of the wardrobe or the bathroom one over the sink which meant I had to sit on the carpet in front of the wardrobe to get ready, I would advise bringing a little mirror if you're like me and like to sit in front of a desk etc to get yourself ready! Not important to most people but if you struggle to stand it would be.
Due to these things alone I did feel the price was slightly higher compared to the quality of the accommodation we had, but based on location alone its an extremely fair price.
The lock on our door also didn't work - I know you can't get in from the outside without a key card but the fact it wasn't lockable from inside did worry me more - a personal thing!
When we arrived on the Saturday late afternoon we managed to get a parking spot in the car park and left our car there until the following teatime. We took the car to drive further afield for tea and when we returned there were unfortunately no spaces available which did mean we had to pay in the car park next door - I feel the hotel should be able to work with this car park for free permits/the discs provided in the lounge covering your stay for any hotel guests as having to pay for parking literally next door seems a little unfair!

Near to town with bus stop directly in front of property. Mega comfy bed. Unique bathroom.
Room just needs a little tlc. Bath needs re-seating and had to do a little diy on wardrobe. Ongoing construction immediately in front of room. However, new build will be an asset once complete.

Excellent location. Plenty of teas and coffees. Good parking and easy check in/check out, Room was quiet
The floor needed a good hoover. Would have been nice to have some decafinated tea/coffee
