A lovely stay.

Excellent Stay

Over all stay is super. Location is in perfect spot. Good view and good place to sit and relax. Room also very good , only thing i have found bit difficulty is the size of showroom in bathroom. It was small. Staff is very friendly and they have good restaurant with view. I recommend others for this place.

The hotel is very friendly and comfortable hotel with a great self-serve breakfast.

Its a comfy, friendly hotel with a bit of character with wooden beams running thru the bedrooms/corridors. It has its own car park so is convenient for loading/unloading belongings. The self-service cooked breakfast is great.

Room 3 is above the breakfast room which has a slate floor and making it a bit noisy at breakfast time. Next time we stay i will request not to have room 3.

Beautiful location. Great selection of food and drink on site. Breakfast that sets you up for the day. Friendly staff. Christmas decorations were perfect to set the scene before the big day.

Lovely stay

The location is great. The hotel is lovely and cosy especially at Christmas time the decorations are fabulous and the room was clean and had a great shower. A lovely big beer garden overlooking the lake (probably not good to be out there in the heavy downpours) but great in spring/summer months. Second stay here for a pre Xmas break. Loved it.

Very hot 🥵 in the room, turned the radiators down but obviously automatic heating system . Just opened the windows.

The breakfast was great value and very well done . Location is amazing with access to Ambleside and walks. The main hotel has undergone restoration and is warm and inviting. Staff are warm and friendly .

Housekeeping was disappointing as they only made the bed and didn’t change towels or hoover the floor. The bathroom was poorly finished with mould in the sealant and shower glass, and missing grout . Bar food was quite disappointing as it was bland and not good value for money in comparison to independent shops and cafes nearby .

It was ok but will probably go elsewhere on my next visit to the lakes

I liked the location of the property and the familiarity of the fact I had been there before.

The food has gone downhill since my visit last year One member of staff made a comment about my partner ordering cocktails when they were already busy which made us feel like we weren’t wanted in the property. We stopped in room 15, room 16s TV was quite booming and we had to ask our neighbours twice to turn it down as the bass made it impossible to sleep.

Comfortable stay in a great location

The location of this hotel couldn't be better - right alongside Lake Windermere. Our room was clean and comfortable with a comfy bed and great shower. It was nice to have a view over the lake. Breakfast choice was very good and the food was tasty. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Parking was easy with plenty of spaces.

Great location and very dog friendly

The location was great, and the room had lovely views across the lake. The breakfast is excellent. In fact, all the food is lovely, tasty, and perfectly cooked.

So many dogs, our room stunk of dog, even though the staff said our room was dog free, our socks were covered in dog hair from the carpet. The dirty doggy smell was gut-wrenching. The bed was supposed to be extra large, but it wasn't, it was quite small, the room was very hot. For the room price, I expected decent coffee with a coffee machine, not cheap sachets, and awful milk pods.

The worse stay ever

Actually nothing! Horrible place, very bad energy.

Dirty on the top. Even I asked about special room if possible for wedding anniversary I got actually room looks like storage with sink close to bed, the smallest room I ever had. Dirty bed, curtains, walls, lamps. Stinks. Bathroom was that small I couldn’t even stood like human beings in the shower. I paid like for room in Las Vegas. Not worth it!!!!

We were horrified on Arrival ( Saturday evening) to find loud music, hordes of people in the garden and long queues at the bar. It resembled an over crowded disco. Reception was an extension of the bar counter. Our friends thought the food supplied for their evening meal disappointing.

The room size and lack of a comfortable, relaxing sitting area or space. The Inn is busy serving food and drink and all areas are public. I had booked to be able to sit by the lake, I couldn't get anywhere to sit inside or out!
