Location was amazing.
No bathrobe or slippers despite booking a top room

Great location
Friendly staff
Good sized rooms. Quiet and good nights sleep.
Comfortable beds and powerful shower.
Dining area spacious and great setting with great decor.
Food served barely warm on cold plates. No one asks if you are enjoying your food which I thought was standard for hospitality.
Unable to mention some very good staff as no name badges to identify them
Room okay but very dusty on headboard, lights and top of pictures. Needs attention to detail when cleaning. Curtains in room didn’t close and poor attempted repair of curtain hooks

The room we stayed in was very nice , spacious with a lovely view perfect for our dog
we have stayed before and there used to be a log fire in one of the rooms in the bar, this was the reason we booked this hotel, so we were disappointed when we got there and the hotel had been refurbished, and removed it.
luckily the waterside across the road had a fire so we ate there every night even bought our own wood to make sure it was lit for the 3 evenings we ate there

No complaints.

Beautiful room with exceptional views of the lake. Bed was very comfortable
Brilliant location, just a short walk into town
The shower was not good, it took about 5 minutes to get warm but never really got hot enough
Plenty of choice at breakfast but cooked items was a bit dry and only luke warm.
Housekeeping not good, we don’t mind keeping our towels but left one hand towel on the bath that we had to use as a bath mat, this was not changed. Dirty wine glasses were not taken away.

The position of where the hotel is
When we got there the windows were open told staff room smelt of smoke but there was no other rooms.
There were someone’s underwear left in one of the drawers.
No cold water in the room sink.
Restaurant service was terrible.

The rooms have all you need, compact but nice.
We had two meals in the pub downstairs which were excellent!
There is mould in the bathroom around the shower.
There was no cooked breakfast available at the Buffett on our first morning, we waited a long time (about 25-30 minutes) for it to be refilled! by which time we had gone for the cold options, pastries fruit
& toast. It was very good on the second morning.

Good staff relaxing environment
The buffet breakfast was lukewarm at best, hence the bacon was difficult to cut and eat, the sausages were solid and coolish

Poor state of decor, very grubby.

Excellent food with lovely serve from some of the staff
Corridor areas very dusty. Generally shabby and in need of a paint, carpet clean.
Radiator in family room did not adjust so the room was far too hot. Window opened on to extraction system. I would have liked to have know that at the time of booking as I would have requested an alternative room.
Rude service from staff member when ordering food.

We recently stayed for 2 nights to celebrate my Dads 80th birthday and we couldn’t fault this hotel at all. It’s a lovely hotel overlooking the lake, the food was excellent, the rooms were lovely and the staff were extremely friendly and made my Dads birthday a very special one. We would definitely return!
Nothing really. A minor niggle would be that a plate warmer foe breakfast would be better as the plates were cold.

Excellent breakfast. Lovely evening meal. Pleasant staff. Well-stocked welcome tea tray. Only a short walk to the town centre.

This stunning venue was in a prime spot/location: not far to travel to local villages/towns (e.g. 20 minute walk to Ambleside). The venue was extra inviting as it was decorated for Christmas. They offered the "Go-Green" scheme: gain a free drink per guest per night if forfeit having clean towels during your stay.
The food/evening meals were delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. It was dog friendly: even though we didn't have dogs, it was lovely to see how welcome they were.
Literally over the road from the lake- we took lots of sunset photos, and it was lovely to wake up to snowy fells in the distance every morning. You can also catch a ferry at the jetty to take you to other parts of the Lake District (in our case, Bowness). We came here to relax/de-stress- it absolutely worked. Would definitely come back again and would recommend it to others!
Even though there is parking on site, it is limited/first-come-first-serve basis, so bare this in mind, otherwise you will have to pay in the public car park next door.
The cooked breakfast wasn't very warm.

The location was fabulous, right by the lake. The food in the restaurant was great.

Location lovely view of the lake and close to the pier.
My bed.. It was two singles put together creating a crevice.
I had a really lovely room but there was a lot of light coming through the window treatment so all in all I did not sleep well for three nights.

Location, food, staff - such good value for money
Parking not great but minor detail

The location is great with a fabulous view from the room.
It is definitely a “pub with rooms”shocking breakfasts-there was nothing left before the breakfast time was finished. I did get a refund for the breakfasts-eventually-but it shouldn’t have been that hard work or so grim.

Very friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Staff very helpful and accommodating.
Good local bus service.
Tranquil location, almost another world, slow pace, interesting local places to visit.
Nostalgic for us because we spent the first night of our honeymoon here 50 years ago.
It has lifted our spirits again after my wife got a shock medical diagnosis.
An appealing combination of a Gastropub and a bijou hotel.
Some of the food was a bit disappointing.
I ordered steak and ale pie and was looking forward to a nice crusty puff pastry topping with a generous amount of rich steak underneath, but I got something which resembled a Pukka Pie - more pastry than filling. I have had more steak in a Greggs Steak Bake !!
Come on, Waterhead Inn you can do better than this. Similarly lemon meringue pie very disappointing. I had been hoping for a really nice slice in the traditional style, but got two small pastry cases with some sort of lemony paste inside. I scooped this out and left the pastry, disappointed. A bit more effort required here.
But the tranquil setting overlooking the lake compensated and I would still recommend this hotel.

Food and Room were all really lovely. It was a perfect stop over for what we were looking for.
Nothing to report on this. Maybe a better sign to be put in place where the rooms are off the car park. tricky to find. especially in the dark

Check in was Ok
Location was perfect.
1. Décor looked a bit tired.
2. One chicken meal I had was not hot and was not of good quality. Staff informed and offered me a free sweet that I did not have.
3. Disappointed that some of the meals were put on cold plates.
4. It should have been made clear that parking was available on a first come first serve.
