Waterhead Retreat - Ground Floor, Private Entrance, Parking and Light Breakfast

Spacious apartment. Private parking. Self serve breakfast area a great idea. Bed was super comfy, like a cloud! Self check in/out was nice and easy no problems. Overall a good stay, lovely location about 5 mins into Ambleside and 5mins other way to the lake.

Only negative was the TV didn’t work, and couldn’t tune in any channels.

The location is quite good, very close to the lake and the Waterhead town centre.

The patio/outside area is not private, which, to be fair, was shown on pictures. The main concern is that the room's door and patio doors are transparent especially if the light is turned on in the evening. So everyone outside can see the inside of the room. There are curtains, but essentially it is impossible to stay secure during a summer night when it is too hot to close the windows or a door to the patio. If the room had aircon that would be less of an issue.

It was a wonderful place to stay, close to all shops, bus stop right outside, light breakfast was so nice in the annexe room, very rekaxing, no complaints at all, the pizzas at the sourdough pizza takeaway next to car park..amazing! Best pizzas weve had for a long time

Tv wifi a bit erratic and parking a bit tight

The accommodation was comfortable and a good location. Nice to have shared facilities of a fridge and microwave. Bus stop outside the property and a short, easy walk to Ambleside.

Published information parking is possible on site , in truth there is only 18 parking spaces with 23 guests in total , reservations will not be taken as the parking is in a first come first served basis. Alternative parking is paid for during the day. Staff not helpful to make any exceptions to make parking more accessible hot blue badge holders. Light Breakfast is complimentary. Guests can help to themselves to bread etc , but there are no serving tongs, so other guests would have handled the sliced bread. Only tea and coffee are supplied, there is no De caff alternative. Sloppy house keeping , previous guests rubbish in a drawer , vanity mirror battery not working , minimal soap in a near empty soap dispenser ran out during our 4 night stay, given the length of our stay the soap could up been filled up before our arrival TV doesn’t work properly , low signal I think ……. Accommodation was quite expensive considering all these points , we paid over £500. for four nights. Noisy from other clients ( no 12 Waterhead bath suites)
