A beautiful, quiet retreat in the heart of the Lakes District
Foxghyll is a beautiful retreat. It's a perfect location to explore the Lakes District while escaping the throngs of tourists! Paul was a wonderful host and we looked forward to his delicious breakfasts every day. Front room was very comfortable and spacious with beautiful views. We also enjoyed being able to walk to the falls from the house, and wish we had more time to hike the mountain right behind the property.

Fabulous place to stay
Everything!! Beautiful home which was exceptionally clean with lots of little details thought of. It was lovely to park the car up and just walk for a couple of days. The owner was so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was superb!

Beautiful historic country house in a superb location. Paul was a friendly and lovely host. We really enjoyed chatting to him and learning some history about his family home. And the breakfasts were divine! Fully recommend!

A magic place to stay while visiting the Lake District, combined by impeccable hosts.
Everything. One of my best stays ever via Booking.com 1) Location is perfect, tucked away in Ambleside / Rydal countryside but still 20-min walk (5-min drive) away from both villages. Location is strategic to visit the Lake District: Most locations are less than 30-min drive away. 2) Property is a beautiful grade 2 listed building with very cute garden and in immaculate conditions. Interior designs are very stylish and very British. 3) Room was super spacious and bed was comfortable. 4) Breakfast was delicious and made with organic/local products. 5) Parking available on site. In the afternoon, hosts organise a lovely ice-cream stand just outside the property. 6) Hosts were impeccable in all aspects: Check-in, check-out, breakfast, recommendations, manners.
Not applicable. We liked everything. If I can recommend something to the hosts is perhaps to offer a couple of bikes to be rented on site.

Excellent hotel.
The hotel is a fabulous, set in an amazing location. The rooms are large, quiet and spotless. Breakfast is chosen off a menu and served directly to your table, hot and freshly prepared. The gardens are stunning with table and chairs. Due to there only being 3 rooms you get an excellent and personal service.
